The GBII commentary is not great. lots of long stretches where they just watch the movie. Lots of mis-remembering things we know aren't quite right. I can't think of anything meaningful that was said. Ivan Reitman likes the tan uniforms better?

The GB2 commentary was the first thing I watched, and I agree it was a bit of a letdown.

Seriously? That's what they get for waiting until Harold Ramis passed away to record this. In the GB1 commentary he's the one constantly keeping the conversation flowing, remembering details. Did they talk about deleted scenes? I'm so disappointed to hear it's not a very good commentary.

Can anyone put my mind at ease about the region of the discs? Just because Amazon has changed its mind in the last week! Are they really region free? Don't fancy shelling out to find they don't play in the UK, but I obviously really want them!

Can anyone who has bought this confirm the quality of the Digital downloads and what all is digital?

Is the digital download 4K HD ? And are the deleted scenes available from digital? I don't own a bluray player but would pick this up if everything on the discs is available from the digital...

I second this. If the del scenes are downloadable I'll purchase. Otherwise getting out my bluray player is a pain in the neck.

I can't find the deleted scenes on the digital versions. It looks as if the special features on the digital download are from the 30th anniversary.

Sony is going to be keeping a close eye on video hosts like Daily Motion and Youtube. Either you'll just have to console yourself with waiting for some time, or knuckle downand buy the BluRay.

One question I have is do you have to have a 4k tv AND bluray player for it to be 4k or will just a 4k tv with a regular bluray player be enough? My bluray player is pretty old but my tv is new and I'd love to see the film in 4k.

The 4k uhd bluray takes a special player, plus you'll need HDR 4k TV and probably over 60" TV before you notice a difference. . other wise the regular Blu-ray is pretty good.. No matter how you cut it, it's a 35 year old movie

Old bluray with old HDMI cable probably won't do 4k, but again may not be a huge difference until you start getting a bigger TV

Sony and it's incessant attempts to extort more money out of the market consumer. :angryvigo:

I assume the 4K UHD won't play on an Xbox One with a BluRay player?

Yeah I've got a 55 inch 4k tv so it might make it look a little better but I'm sure it would look better than the old dvd I have of it. I just wasn't sure if you needed all kinds of bells and whistles to make it actually look like they intend for it to look.

So I think the chart says you need to be under 7' feet to the TV (55") before you notice the difference between 4k vs 1080. Then you have to be able to see in 4k, check your prescription.. Every jump from vhs to DVD to Blu-ray -4kuhd gets smaller and harder to notice. If you don't already own it on Blu-ray, then it's a definite must buy. . but then again they'll probably release another set in a few years with all the lost footage from the Kansas vault

Cheers for the info, I've got the Gears of War Xbox one, which appears to be the S model. :)

I can confirm the HD blu-rays work absolutely fine in a UK PS4. Obvs the 4k ones will only work in a 4k player.
