I was thinking how the Ghostbusters would do if they went up against movie villains such as Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. Since neither Freddy nor Jason are ghosts they wouldn't be able to take them on using their standard ghost catching tactics and would have to resort to unconventional methods much like they did when they went up against the boogeyman in the Ghostbusters animated series. Also, Freddy would probably be the more complicated of the two as they would no doubt have to get him out of dream world before they can properly deal with him.

Without plot armor they die horribly. They might have better luck with against Chucky or the leprechaun. They could take ring and the grudge ghosts.
