There's one definite difference between this shell and the one used on the first release of the Packs (the cap head screws on the Ion Arm have been changed to look like cross heads), there may be more - as suggested by Spongeface's revisions to his electronics package), but for most intents and purposes the shells, appear to be largely identical on the normal Pack and on the Backpack.

My interest would be to modify the pack with a spongeface light kit then put the backpack back on again. I'm not in the market for one myself. Mostly curious really

I have a SH pack made this year that had that change in the ion arm. Not just the Book bag version having that change.

So its a 1:1 mark up then. Even labor and material costs dont justify the 100% upsale.
