https://directory.libsyn.com/episode/in ... _id/759877

-Toys were being made 1.5-2 years before there was a comic considered
--Oh. No, it was totally, uh, because of the 35th anniversary for both Transformers and Ghostbusters. They had decided to do a toy and these things take so long. The toy was in the works, yeah, year and a half--maybe two years ago. And, um, that's how long it takes them to design and--and tool the molds and make everything work to mass produce these toys. Uh, so it was in the works for a long time and as we got closer, they said, "Hey, why don't you do a comic? Because IDW has Transformers and IDW has Ghostbusters. And it's the 35th anniversary. It would some thing fun. Let's do a story."

-"And um, other---other ghosts, uh, from the Transformers side will show up later on."

June sales are out and TF/GB #1 sold 17,575 units. What's impressive about that is it beats the 16,716 units sold for the first issue of the ongoing GB series and is only 2nd to TMNT/GB Vol. 1 #1 in overall top sales, it being 21, 223 units.

That's most impressive; both of these crossover minis may have boosted and expanded GB's fanbase and visibility. ^_^

Looking forward to reading this, I don't quite know how this happened but every time Ecto-tron speaks in the comic book I heard voice actor Rob Paulsen as Ecto-tron's voice in my head.
Dan Schoening mentioned on Twitter that while designing Ectotron, he heard the voice of David Hyde Pierce (Niles from Frasier).

TRANSFORMERS/GHOSTBUSTERS #2

Main story
Yes, amusing yet logical that the Ghostbusters aren't too flustered by the big talking alien robot. heh heh. I didn't think Eck would be as impulsive to shoot the Trap holding Starscream but I'm surprised Ray or Egon didn't think to offer to release him in controlled conditions like the Paranormal Research Containment Tank Slimer is in or in the Warehouse's cube area. Starscream was Starscream. lmao. His reaction to being called untrustworthy was amusing. And I'm with Winston, not trusting this guy at all. I'll bet Egon is telling himself they're from a parallel universe and they aren't aliens. lol.

And I guess we glimpse the big bad, Red Wiz-- er Kremzeek. No doubt he will show up on Earth in Issue #4 or 5 with Ghost Megatron, sprites, and any other ghost Decepticons. More likely than not, it appears the goal is to steal the Matrix of Leadership/Allspark from Optimus Prime. Whether Starscream is pretending to have escaped from Kremzeek or really did and is just planning to betray everyone later on is another headache they don't need. Though the nagging bit is why thousands of years later to nab the Allspark when they could have appeared in the Ark and made the same plea way sooner? Unless the Ark is somehow shielded and they never could enter it on their own. Best bet was to lure Prime out into neutral territory?

The way they dispersed the Krem-- er sprite was cool. Always a little something new from Erik Burnham. Peter calling it a bean was amusing timed comically well with the trap exploding on him.

**Kremzeek refers to Gozer by its title of the Traveler.
*Page 11
**Egon alludes to Gozer's initial arrival in the first Ghostbusters movie.
**The offer made by Kremzeek and what happens next mirrors a similar outcome in Transformers: The Movie in which Megatron, on the verge of death is made an offer by Unicron. Despite being prideful at first, Megatron accepts the deal. In exchange for becoming enslaved to the more powerful being, Megatron cheats death and is given a new form.

*Page 17
**Peter yells "Dah!" like in the first movie.
*Page 18
**Egon alludes to the danger of dispelling ghosts. In the first volume of the ongoing and in the Ghostbusters 101 mini-series, the consequences led to many ghosts forming into a megaspook form.
*Page 19
**Ectronymous mentions Optimus Prime.
*Page 20
