Haunted America now heads into the sunset (or is that sunrise, heading back to the East Coast?) as we reach the epilogue next month with Chicago, and the Rookie.
I'll be looking forward to getting the trade paperback and enjoying the whole story again, with all the stops pulled out. Despite the stories having been concentrated to one issue per location, the event has allowed the team to build off of the local legends and architecture, as well as the very unique nature the parts of America have presented.
In addition to the main story providing plenty of great quips, references and expansion to the universe that we've alredy seen, credit must also been given to Tristan's support story: Who Killed Laura Parr?, which has served as an enjoyable accompanying tale to the main event. His stylisation of the Real Ghostbusters designs has been a treat, and provided some beautifully dynamic visuals with Luis' colours (especially the truck crash). As others have noted, the twist with the slime blower/tether was a pleasant surprise, and Venkman's reaction to the tether going wrong, and the crash are two of my new favourites from the series to date.
The Death storyline in issue 8 was a nice bit of expansion to he lore of Ghostbusters. Laura Parr was a good addition to Haunted America, and had shades of Supernatural to it.
I'm looking forward to #13, with the return of the Rookie, and the return to New York... leading to the inevitble confrontation with the Ghost Breakers.
Dan, Erik, Luis, Tristan... congratulations, I hope you guys get a bit of well-earned R&R.
Of special note, as mentioned by another commenter, as an artist I've really enjoyed the differing colour palettes and subtle styles that've been used for each stop on the Haunted America tour, I feel that the mix of Dan's Art and Luis's colours have had an effect on me as an artist.
