philmorgan81 wrote: ↑February 28th, 2019, 12:59 amAwesome theory all around. I am still trying to figure it if I should bone up on the G1 tv series or IDWs current run of comics to get a grasp in the upcoming story. IDWS run with Transformers is really long. That is a lot of catching up. Either way they have already succeeded in bringing me into the world of Transformers. The same thing happened to me with TMNT. I was pretty casual with their comic until they crossed over with the Ghostbusters. At that point I was mad dashing to be caught up before the book hit the shelves. I am sure that I am familiar enough with the mythos of Transformers to know what’s going on. This is pretty exciting.
Thanks. But good question. I don't know all that much about Transformers, mostly the basics and I vaguely remember watching G1, the movie (that taught me a swear ), Beast Wars/Machines when I was young. But from what I heard, IDW is starting the Transformers canon from scratch this year around the same time. I think I recall someone asking Tom about that and he said relatively to the Transformers canon, the story is stand alone. So I guess what we need to know will be told to us in the mini and well, for Dan's easter eggs I'll probably be relying on other people like Kingpin for help...

Oh does that mean that the story will not have a lasting impact on either of the franchise continuities? That's a bummer I have really enjoyed how the Ghostbusters have referenced there meeting with the Ninja Turtles and Vise Versa as both continuities progressed.
Oh well even if the event isn't referenced again, with these little tidbits they have put out has shown me that event is going to be a lot of fun.

They haven't addressed how it will impact the Ghostbusters canon, just a brief tweet reply from Waltz that the Transformer canon part of it is stand alone. They have the same GB creative team, so chances are it will matter to the ongoing GB comics canon going forward. All the past GB crossovers have fed into each other and the ongoing canon.
Loving the Quintesson faces on the far left and right pillars... also nice to see Shockwave get owned... I hate that guy in EVERY continuity he shows up in.

Hmm, yep, look like the Death and Rage judges' faces.
Interesting situation here. Megatron is about to converse with Gozer. Just like Ray did in the film. Could be a coincidence or just Erik being clever, but both characters were voiced by Frank Welker.
The big difference though is I think Megatron would say YES to the God question. LOL!
I am going to enjoy this year so much.

I would just like the say I've been having fun giving a brief history of the Ghostbusters comics on a major Transformers board trying to explain a few things. I think I convinced a few to pick up the comics.

For trade-waiters like me, you can now preorder the 35th Anniversary TPB, on Amazon, here:
To add to Sayscalled, please for God's sake, don't just trade-wait unless you've exhausted all options and no store near you won't pre-order single issues for you. (And also WTH, no hardcovers yet?)

To set my own record straight... I don't have a comic shop ANYWHERE near me. For years this was okay, since I thought I grew out of comics. However, on a complete whim, I ordered the first two TPB volumes of the ongoing series from Amazon. I haven't looked back since.
I didn't think it was prudent to order single issues (since I prefer physical over digital anyhow) when they were hard to come by, and you had a thirty day wait (at least) between issues. The TPBs saved space and allowed me to read a whole miniseries, or chunk of an ongoing, at once.
This is why I preorder as soon as Amazon offers the next one, that way it's guaranteed I'll keep up with the IDW GB arcs. Not because I'm anti-comic shop.

Yeah, I'm sure there's a lot more people that have location issues like you. It's unfortunate the life of a comic is still dependent on comic shops ordering the issues.
June solicits are in. Ghosts of Cybertron Part 1 is set for June 19.
"GHOSTS OF CYBERTRON" PART 1! After years of civil war, the Autobots fled Cyberton, leaving their home planet in the evil clutches of Megatron and his Decepticons. Years later and millions of miles away, the Autobots pick up a Cybertronian distress signal from a mysterious planet called Earth. The ghostly signal shouldn't exist, and it'll bring Optimus Prime and his team-including brand-new Autobot ECTOTRON-face-to-face with... the GHOSTBUSTERS!
Crossing the streams after 35 years! Written and illustrated by the long-time fan-favorite Ghostbusters creative team of Erik Burnham, Dan Schoening, and Luis Antonio Delgado! Five action-packed interconnecting covers from series artist Dan Schoening! The series will also include covers from superstar artists like Nick Roche, Alex Milne, Paulina Ganucheau, Priscilla Tramontano, and more!
Interview with Erik Burnham about Ghosts of Cybertron. https://comicbook.com/comics/2019/03/25 ... interview/ Some selected teases: -"Ectotron is a nerd in the same way that Ray Stantz is a nerd. He's a little defensive about his title, and he doesn't get sent out on missions much – which is why Optimus Prime sending him out to investigate a signal he discovered means so much to him. He's going to grow through his adventure, as we all do, and putting him through those paces is going to be a lot of fun." -Erik is a couple issues in -Starscream steals the spotlight -When he wrote the outline, Erik kept the cast small. After he saw Dan and Luis' covers, he added a few more like Grimlock but it may be for just a panel.
I'm...not sure I can handle this. A story about the IDW Ghostbusters without an interdimensional crossover? They have to be baiting us. My Little Pony or Uncle Scrooge will show up before the end of it, right?

Or Sonic the Hedgehog? Whatevs, I’m still excited.

Do we know of any other times Prime Egon jumped out of a window? Or was it more of an off-screen/off-page type of thing?

This Post Contains Spoilers
Nothing comes to mind. I assumed it was just Peter's dry humor like when Loftur vaporized Egon and Peter reacted 'maybe he'll get better.'

Pre-ordered my copy yesterday, my local comic book store lately has had trouble getting the new issues of Ghostbusters when they come out. Looking forward to reading it, from the panels shared by Tom Waltz on Twitter its is shaping up nicely.

My place, Comix Corner, has a similar issue. They didn't have the IDW 20/20 one-shot upon release and my copy was delayed for several weeks. I really hope it doesn't happen again with the GB35 series.

@Ghostytheghost, I feel your pain. My comic shop did not get a single copy of the Sanctum Of Slime one shot either. I ended up ordering a copy about a week later. Defiantly plan pre- ordering the other one shots and the Transformer crossover story so I don't miss anything.
