I know there's not really a way to explore it in a interesting way, but I wonder how close the "real ghost busters" back story was to what we're seeing in the year one comics.

I figure the book must have gotten delayed by manufacturing issues created by the pandemic. Is it possible it's delayed so we have less time to spend with some Afterlife spoilers?

August solicits did get released but no new Ghostbusters series or trades or collections.

Erik Burnham mentioned the next #1 of a series with his name on it won't release until 2021. He didn't specify what comic it was but I guess brace thy selves after Year One #4 releases in July...
https://twitter.com/erikburnham/status/ ... 2121769984

IDW issued a press release for it's releases May 27 to August 26. Year One #4 is confirmed to release on July 1. The Year One trade paperback's release is now to be determined (you can also see its TBD on Amazon). The 3rd Spectral Shenanigans TPB that was set for November is also now TBD on Amazon.
https://www.idwpublishing.com/idw-revea ... mmer-2020/

TF/GB took five months after the last issue came out. Same with 35th Anniv. So I would guess we'll see the Year One trade on December 2.

EDIT: Nope, I was way off. Year One TPB set for October 7 now.

I wonder if the next number one is a afterlife tie in? Have the IDW writers read afterlife's final script?

That's pretty much my guess, too. And the IDW team did read the script last year, If I recall.

All we know so far is that only Tom Waltz read a script last year - he didn't specify which draft.

I wonder if they give them still images from the production so they can get the look right? Or do they hold off on the final art until after the premier?

Third page: Wonder what happened to the Firehouse? I guess knowing Egon, seems something must been going on.

Post-Peck having the grid shut down, maybe Egon's trying to rebuild or stabilize the grid? Though the way Winston is warning Rebecca, maybe we'll see crazy beard Egon. lol.

Nice to finally see the previews for issue #4, I am defiantly preordering this issue when I can. I have a strong feeling this issue will be a real treat when it arrives in July.

Egon may have also been testing some new equipment developed in the winding down period after the Containment Unit blew, before he went to work at the university with Ray.

I think the latter. Her book is too thorough and the city saw a way to use the content in it to pin things on the Ghostbusters and sue them. But I did like

Interesting to me that the Retail Incentive cover has been changed. As of right now the original version is still up at Diamond's web site:
https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/FEB200707

It's been redrawn from a GB2 era version of Janine to a more RGB Season 1 looking one. Which I can't help but approve of.

The redesign has also made it obvious her watch is a Real Ghostbusters Peter Venkman lenticular "haunted watch".

Correct. And the GB2 mug was replaced with a regular coffee mug and a RGB Thermos was placed on the table. Lattie has said in the past he submits at least 2 versions and IDW picks. I guess some wires got crossed and Diamond put the wrong one in the solicit.

Yup, back when you just had to mail in three proofs of purchase.

Made my pre-order with Midtown comics today, looking forward to reading this issue. I had a blast reading the other issues in this story arc so I am pretty stoked to read the last issue and see what Egon has to say.

Without spoiling it, is the ending a reference to afterlife? If so its so vague I don't see the point.

Depending on what's to come in GB Afterlife, this last issue could probably lay the groundwork for it; especially since the movie centers around Egon for the most part. Guess well find out answers when it comes out next year.

I totally think is is an illusion to something in Afterlife. I already tweeted Burnham with a compliment & a question. Maybe he'll respond. (Its also coming out GB 1 showings will include something regarding Afterlife. All these day movements and alignments are either pure chance or Corps really trying to make something special out of this bizarre world situation.

Ghostbusters 101 came out about 9 month after the reboot, I wouldn't be surprised if they were/are working on a tie in story already. Considering the delay it might be kind of cool if it comes out at the same time as afterlife. I'm still wondering how they'll connect afterlife with the main comic story considering how the timelines don't work together.

If it is, then that is very exciting to me! I guess that means Burnham does know details about afterlife, even though he said he didn't.

Now I'm suspicious that new comics are done, but CAN'T be released until after the movie.

Without going into specific spoiler territory... I'll just say, I thought the ending was foreshadowing GB 2. I mean, this arc DID take place not long after the events in 1984.
