Looks like we're going to get a deeper look in the world of 50-S; can't wait to see it next year. ^_^

That's some rad news!!!
I hope this means they have one-shots for the other teams planned. I really hope Extreme Ghostbusters and the Greenwich Ghostbusters (Mike the Golem and Robo-Buster) are next.

Also, Ghostbusters Beyond with Rachel and 00-D Louis.

Sounds like a fun read. @mrmichaelt Count me in too for an Extreme Ghostbusters one shot. I have always felt that this team would be a good fit for the world of comic books. I would not mind one shot stories of the other GB teams either.

Yeah that is exactly what I was hoping for. I would not say no to more Ghostbusters related comics set with the other franchises or worlds. I hope that this one shot is the beginning of that. So awesome!

Even better: If they're gonna be future GB stories for the different teams (ATC, EGB, SOS, GWGB, GBeyond, Chicago GB, etc.), they don't even have to be traditional ongoing series; alongside GB annuals, full GB stories can be told annually in a miniseries/maxiseries format within each different dimension including prime. And I said this before: The format fits well for GB story than a traditional ongoing format. ^_^

Sure, them too. I just said the Extreme Ghostbusters and Greenwich because they are on the top of my wish list. I have a feeling what from some other dimension maybe could be one of these Predators Tiamat mentioned. And maybe in these possible one-shots, they hunt each team involved in Crossing Over down one by one leading to the next prime team's series. Maybe Erik even salvaged his anthology pitch -- he originally wanted to do a mini - each issue focused on a different team -- then do Crossing Over in 2019 but Tom overruled him.
EDIT: So they could do one one-shot a month, January to May then they kick off the next mini-series for the Prime team in June to coincide with the 35th anniversary. It be like SOS/50-S in January, RGB/68-R in February, EGB/68-E in March, ATC/80-C in April, and 68-V in May.

Oh man I just got goosebumps. I am really curious to what they might have up their sleeves. That sneak of the last panel reveals more stories on the way and Like you said Erik wanted Crossing Over to be the big 35th anniversary special. I am sure there is some great brainstorming going on right now regarding the 35th anniversary and I am so looking forward to what is coming.

Straight from NYCC, the official title is "Ghostbusters: IDW 20/20" as part of IDW's 20th anniversary, they are doing one-shots of their properties with stories set 20 years in the future. The synopsis for GB is
Twenty years in the future, and a new generation of Ghostbusters… is sent on all the jobs Ray, Winston, Peter, and Egon just don’t feel like taking on themselves. The Sanctum of Slime Ghostbusters—Bridget, Samuel, Gabriel, and Alan—have proven themselves many times over… first against the demon Dumazu, and later with the Ghostbusters of many other dimensions in the recent Crossing Over event. Now they’re ready for an easy gig, something like a simple haunted house. But they better be careful… you never know W-a-t could happen.

Main Story
Interesting touch that Gabe and Samuel are part-time Ghostbusters but makes sense since we previously knew they were college students. And I believe Alan's Virtual Trading Card noted he got an online degree already and Bridget is working on an Associates towards Psych.
Pretty cool that 20/20 takes place literally right after Crossing Over #8 and the SOS team can't catch a break. lol. And the mention of the Moose Ghost, lmao. Loved the one "difference" from the RGB case that the SOS team saw through W-a-t's b.s. pretty quickly.
Dug the solid focus on Alan in this and the back up. Props to him for figuring out W-a-t's ruse. But holy smokes, almost swallowed by W-a-t and ends up blowing his head off!
Geoff got a slightly bigger role than his cameo on Get Real but some lovely comedy relief before the big battle. He's so desperate he went to Philly.
Clever reveal with W-a-t "stowing" away on Alan's flightsuit. And once W-a-t revealed himself, I was so "OH! He looks just like the Spectral Ghostbusters! Dan!" And managed to give us a new visual, too, W-a-t has Egon suspended in mid-air like a puppet.
Loved all the connections. The SOS file in Crossing Over noted 50-S was the closest to the prime dimension they've encountered so far. And here, we got a little more reasons why - they also have a security system on their Containment Unit, Egon was using a Giga Meter in the one scene he was scanning Alan's flightsuit. And wow, even threw in a divergence (and/or possible future) for Kylie prime. Happy to read she got herself a doctorate in at least one dimension.
The ending was hilarious - chased by a headless W-a-t, trapping him with a powered up Trap, causing a city wide blackout, and the bit about Sam. lmao. Well played.

Down The Basement Stairs
Should be used to him by now, but it was another nice surprise to see the Icon Ghost from RGB in between stories.
Another great surprise we also got a 50-S version of the Sandman story. Like in the 2015 annual, there's a Sandman in a house on Staten Island. Or they went in wearing Ecto Goggles, too, only to get attacked almost right away and sent to that dream-like state. Also nice touch that like Egon did in the annual, Alan also got a "memento" from the experience.

That's great; she's really devoted and dedicated to the GB business to get a doctrate and the job suits her well. Very pleased with that. ^_^

Read the story digitally, yet I'm glad I have a physical copy on the way. Should be here Saturday. Anyway, props to the IDW crew for fleshing out these other-dimensional 'Busters.
It was hard to tell 2020 Peter from Ray, till Alan called one of them 'Dr. Venkman' directly. Small nitpick in an otherwise great installment.

To be fair Dan aykroyd and Bill Murray are pretty interchangeable no one can tell them apart.
