Does anyone know why the Proton Packs for the Kenner figures had the cord change placements from the bottom of the cyclotron to where the shock mount should be between the first wave and future releases? Only reason I could think of is that it may have been easier to re-attach the wand to the Pack with the revised cord placement, but I've never known the official reason.

Easier (cheaper?) to manufacture was always my thought. Just a guess though. I hoped that the re-released versions would be attached at the bottom like the original first wave run.
