Instead of an all in one pack, there's now a Boson Dart Pack, and it sounds like the Slime Blower might pop up again. It just seems like a big step backwward to go from being able to have an all in one pack that would allow you to not have to run back and forth to the car if you suddenly realize that Dark Matter or Slime would be really nifty in a certain situation. And visually, there's no difference btween the classic pack and the game one, save for the barrel attachment/box on the gun, and the slime canister along with a couple extra wires on the pack, and that's not even taking into account artistic interpretation. Not to mention other little things like the Ray using the XGB giant trap toy that came with the Kylie figure as opposed to the already established Super Slammer.
I can certainly appreciate the gags and in-jokes, and I'm not complaining in the least. I was just genuinely curious as to why, in a book that looks to be pushing the storylines forward from the game and GB2 (FINALLY! I've been hoping for that for A LONG TIME. The first storyline was great, I'll give that to you, but I LONG for the day I can get through an entire GB story without hearing Gozer or Stay Puft mentioned...) by introducing new characters and plots and scenarios, would then go in the opposite direction concerning the gear?
Just a question that was bugging me. In all honesty, this is a great book, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Thanks!
