Talk about targetted micro-marketing.
That's funny, Dan used him as one of the ghosts in #9 previously.

Just so everyone's clear on who's on there and why:

The people I chose to put on that cover are people who've been particularly supportive to me who MAYBE haven't had a fair run. Certainly some have appeared more than others (Vince, for example, and Ben), and there are definitely people that I wish I could've put in, but in all honesty, with the design I had in mind, I put the maximum amount of people I could in there without them becoming completely unrecognisable. As it was, the thing was drawn with a .05 nib (on account of my .005 being found DOA). Even then, it would've started looking rough as guts, and you'd start truly wondering whether I had a grasp on even just the concept of likenesses.
For those who missed out, I do apologise, but there will be other opportunities.

Also, the choices were for those who've been particularly supportive to me personally, even since back in the TMNT days. Troy for example has been a good, long distance mate of mine since WAY back in the GBHQ days, and the days I was writing for Mirage. Larry Boxshall (the guy in the Porn) t-shirt has been pushing my comics into the hands of anyone who set foot in his shop since my name first popped up in Previews; AJ, as far as I'm aware hasn't appeared in or on anything yet, and Adam, as vocal as he may be about his feelings regarding the direction of the book artistically, has always been out there about how much he likes my art, and for me to not at least acknowledge that AND his passion for the property in spite of not seeing eye to eye on the comics would have been disrespectful. I don't want people saying I've targeted him to make him buy the book at all -- nobody should buy anything they don't want to -- it was more my way of saying thanks than anything else. Do I wish he'd go back and check it out? Certainly. The more numbers we have on the book, the better the odds are that it'll survive, and I guess that could potentially lead to the possibility of me drawing or writing bigger stories than the ones I have so far, but that's neither here nor there; this whole thing was just me saying thank you. The problem is, there are too many people to thank properly, and there was only so much time and space I could utilise properly on each cover.

The end.

Just so we're clear, my crack about "targeted micro-marketing" was just a joke. I figured you knew that, but if I was misinterpreted, I want to set it straight.

Tristan, you're a good man for doing this in the first place - it's a helluva gesture to work us folks into the book in any shape or form. No need to justify to anyone, just the notion that you guys insert a fan here or there is an unbelievable nod even if there are people that aren't being represented. Seriously honored to be on there, not hard to support you and the guys because you're all just so damn talented.

I don't know if it's triggered from seeing Ecto-2 while reading Haunted America, but I am hoping we get to see that Marine Ecto-8 again. I got a kick out of those scenes in the game.

That's good news for the fans that missed out. Plus there's something like 222 covers left anyway? And Dan's been drawing fans into the main story, too, so lots of opps abound. Plus, none of us fans have been mauled, chewed on, or slimed or worse by the entities of the month. Well er, Geoff Adams got shoved and screamed at by Idulnas but that's about it, I think. So 'No Fans were Hurt in the Making of This Comic'

I love that the fans get included in the comics. I also love that I can communicate directly with the creators and see what's coming and going straight from the guys who make it. That's what makes this my favorite of the 30+ plus comics I buy ever Wednesday. You rarely see something like this in the comics community. I really hope this book never ends.

Sorry, the praise isn't over. One of my favorite things is the B covers. My favorite being issue 6 with the Ramones first album homage(I've said this earlier in the thread but must repeat it). I don't usually catch the album cover references, but I love the ones I do catch. Ok, I'm done now.

Patrick Creel, of the Real Tampa Bay Ghostbusters and feature on the Nick Runge covers, did a nice 10 minute video interview with Erik Burnham, Dan Schoening, and Luis Delgado at the IDW Booth at San Diego Comic Con. Just have to crank up the volume because of the background noise that is San Diego Comic Con.

Being in the UK I have to wait for my local shop to get a bundle of comics in.

I just picked up 4 to 11 yesterday and I LOVE that you put in John Candy's original take on Louis Tully!

I love a billion other things regarding the comics but this in particular got my geek grin on!

November solicits are out!

Issue #15
This Post Contains Spoilers
Love it, nice reference to the first movie's original script/premise.

The third trade paperback collection back comes out in November and will include Tristan's "Who Killed Laura Parr?" 4 parter. The cover seemingly reveals the ghost appearing in Issue #12 this month and has Dan's take on the Laura Parr story: Volume Three Cover

Will the exclusive short story still be in Volume 3?

No. It's funny -- we never intended for Jones' stuff to be part of the trades as is (though don't think we weren't hoping there'd be demand for an All-Jones collection with the PCOC stuff and his other backups!) but the collections department at IDW can, does, and has overruled us on this kind of thing. So when we tell you "it will appear" or "it won't appear" in the trade, they have the authority to make us unintentional liars. (:

Now, to answer your question: because we're stuffing vol. 3 with WHO KILLED LAURA PARR, the aforementioned Dan-drawn backup story is being bumped to the next volume (presumably.)

In other news, Dan, Luis, and Jones have been KILLING themselves this last week or two with work. I'd like to publicly thank them for redoubled efforts lately making up for the fun we had a month ago at San Diego.

These gentlemen are the best.

Applause sign is lit!

I still have hope someday Tristan may get to do his Spirit Guide book maybe retitled as 'From the Files of PCOC' or something.

Makes sense. Is Tristan going back to PCOC files starting with #13?

Definitely, three cheers for the crew making this an awesome series. And another three cheers for Tom Waltz helping keep it altogether, too!

EDIT: The Big One Comic Podcast has an interview with Erik Burnham. Ghostbusters talk starts at about the 25 minute mark but the whole thing was a delight to listen to. Fun fact about the Proton Pistol and a mini-spoiler about a certain spud appearing in #14.

EDIT 2: Looking at the Comixology Pull List, looks like Issue #12 releases August 29th.

What, no...I didn't notice that at all. ;)

That Slimer spoiler you mentioned got me might interested. It reminded me of this drawing Tristan did about tests on a not-Slimer ghost before...geez I don't remember maybe the holiday one shots. But back on #14, it sounds like you were hinting Egon is simulating the other guys' equipment on Slimer and realizes something "bad" is going to happen. I hope it gets spoiled in that 8 page preview before the release day. :)

Cools. I find it mildly humorous they spoil the main story stuff but not any of Tristan's pages. A 7:1 ratio would have made sense for the Haunted America arc but that's probably just me...

I was wondering if Laura Parr would be in the vol 3 trade thanks for the info.
