Following the news in recent weeks of other films going through a second rescheduling due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Sony Pictures has announced that it will now be delaying the release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife until June 11th, 2021, as reported by Variety and Deadline.

Whilst this is disappointing news in light of the delay the film has already experienced, a second rescheduling was expected given the current circumstances.

Releasing it online increases the risk of the film being pirated, and pulling in a poorer box office gross because Sony would only be getting a fraction of what they'd be making on ticket sales from physical theaters.

The Afterlife date was pushed back in the UK originally so as not to coincide with Euro 2020 football tournament... which will now take place between 11 June and 11 July 2021...

I'm fine with this. Being in Alberta March is still snowy and cold here so getting to wear my flight suit and pack and not worry about heating cars up or things cracking due to cold is more then ok by me.
