Yup, patch 1.6.2 released today and was just focused on fixing the lighting glitch.

"This hotfix addresses an HDR related issue that was causing gameplay to appear darker than normal.

We are currently also working on the next patch which will include bug fixes, improvements, and various other changes."

One light glitch, anyway... The ceiling lights are still disappearing and reappearing in my Firehouse. :boogieman:

Still though, hopefully the people who've been unable to play the game will get to enjoy it again. :)

Yep and now the vending machine at the top of the stairs disappears when you get close to it.

mrmichaelt wrote: September 13th, 2023, 5:13 pm Wonder if these glitches were created when they added the Halloween decor.
I first noticed the ceiling light assets popping in and out on the 24th of August, and the Halloween textures appeared to go live around the 1st of September. I don't think the two are related, as we didn't appear to experience this issue when the decorations were deployed last Halloween.

August 24th? As in the day Patch 1.6.1. got released? Hmm.

I'm not sure if I was dealing with the same issue, cause I tried playing it yesterday, and the whole game was dark. Turns out (for some unknown reason), the color blindness settings were activated, and the color deficiency strength slider was jacked all the way up. Once I deactivated it and returned all video settings to "default" the issue was resolved. Either that was the glitch, or I was an idiot, and accidentally turned those settings on.

The latter seems more likely honestly. XD

That's new to you? I noticed that late August.

Neat. Suffice to say I'd bet DLC 4 drops on October 19, too. The pattern seems to alternate between a Tuesday and a Thursday and between the start of the month and 20 days in. <takes off tinfoil hat>
January 31, 2023 (DLC 1) - Tuesday
April 20, 2023 (DLC 2) - Thursday
August 1, 2023 (DLC 3) - Tuesday
October 19, 2023 (DLC 4) - Thursday (not confirmed)

Here's the Amazon page for the physical version of Ecto Edition. (not sure if there will be a separate page for the glow-in-the-dark one) and it releases 12 days later on October 31 (maybe if we all remember the Tobin's Spirit Guide box orders)

timeware wrote: September 26th, 2023, 5:44 pm Ha. What they don't tell you is the Remote Trap Vehicle Kit doesn't come without having to EARN it. When I pre ordered I had assumed that the RTV would have been included with the RGB colors. Nope.
Honestly, I kinda wish they'd just remove the RTV from the game. Since last October, I've only ever seen it catch a ghost maybe 3 times. It's always been more of a hindrance than a help to the busters since you now lose a source of a tether and when the RTV is busted or out of power, the player controlling it is too far away to be of any help until they run in to collect the RTV, then run to where ever the action has moved to.

I agree. The RTV sounded like a cool idea on paper, but on practice, not so much. If anything, they should just change it to more of a gear shell like the RGB, EGB, and ATC traps so when you throw it out, it only looks like an RTV but operates like a standard trap - maybe up the stats so it's worth getting.

I've only seen it work once only because the ghost was being played by a newbie who accidentally flew right over it. lol. Other times, I've seen players get yelled at by others for using it.

A lot of the more active members of the community have tried coming up with ways to make it more useful and the only ways to make it more useful is by making it ridiculously over powered compared to the standard trap configurations. Basically, the trap field would have to be functional while the RTV is moving while also having a trap field that's wider, taller, and at least on par with the overclock with the extra pull engaged. It would be broken in all new ways.

Kingpin wrote: October 5th, 2023, 4:08 amMakes sense, as the presumed release date for DLC 4 would be the week after next.
Exciting stuff. :)
I'm cautiously optimistic. Will it fix a ton of bugs once and for all and be a well balanced game just in time for it being the last free DLC? Shrug. It would be ideal but... idk, realistically will always be a work in progress.

Also looking forward to seeing what the shells and 'celebrity' ghost from the movies will be used. Presumably Afterlife shells? I think my guess is the ghost on fire during the montage in Afterlife then the other 2 DLC ghosts will be element based, too, like ice.

The patch notes for hotfix 1.6.2 mentioned that another round of bug fixes were coming (1.6.3), but that line seems to heave been removed. My guess is that's being rolled into DLC 4 (presumably 1.7.0). Now, that said...

Every single DLC drop has come with its share of bug (DLC 2 being the absolute worst offender... which they fixed pretty quickly all things considered). Also, it's not like DLC 4 will be dropped and they're gonna just abandon the game "Enjoy the new toys! Sorry about the bugs, good luck!!!. Right now, the game is in a pretty good state. Balance is pretty tight and most issues are manageable... shy of the random game crashing.

What I'm really hoping is that they're able to implement a few things they mentioned along the way: customization slots, room codes (they tested it, but only for PC users), and a few other quality of life features. For a game that's now $20 (originally $40), I'm still having a lot of fun with the game even with the bugs.

Tell me more about these room codes. Sounds interesting.
