Afterlife's teaser trailer went online on 16th January 2019, the second trailer on 9th December 2019, and the final trailer on 8th November 2021... So we can't use that as a useful guide due to Covid mucking the promotion plan up.

We're a little under three months (85 days to be exact) from the release... So if there's three trailers like last time, then we might get the second trailer in February, and then a third trailer maybe sometime around the middle of March as the final push of advertising picks up.

Yep, I've just tested it and the forum software is adding it to posts.

Come on Ecto Cooler...come on. We've got the RGB Fright Features already back on the shelves. Bring on the ultimate nostalgia bait.

If they're not partnering with a fast food chain to make an Ecto Cooler Slushie because of the ice theme -- there's no justice in the world. lol. j/k. But I mean... common sense there will be a lot of frozen foods...

Maybe i'm just getting a little antsy. Seems like marketing should have already lined up these things?

And maybe amplifies whatever bad emotion is residing in the guy who holds it.

Per Dan words, Ray will be "resentful" about not being an active Ghostbuster anymore. Maybe this sentiment drives him toward causing a little mess to demonstrate that he's still able to catch ghosts.... And then the little mess escalates in a bigger mess.

I see an arc peaking its head for sure.

Probably dons the pack towards the end to “help save his friends” or something. Rules aside for the greater good.

EDIT:

If they go that route..I hope its the beginning of the 3rd act..so we can see all 3 OGs headlining the new team for the big showdown.

a live action version of the “Back in the Saddle shot”. All of them lined up, heading off to battle. Ivan really knew how to capture the “team aesthetic” in his shot composition of the first two.

This wouldn't be surprising, especially if they decided to make thematic references to GB2 without actually bringing the same villain back (mood slime, Ray getting possessed, etc.). As others have pointed out, we haven't seen him in uniform yet like the other OGs (maybe in the poster?). If that's the case, I hope that Ray isn't heavily treated like a resentful, reckless jerk. The character deserves better.

I like that idea. Makes sense of why Dana got chosen as a target for supernatural activity in GB2 after having been involved in the Gozerian incident.

They were going to touch on this in Ghostbusters 2 originally. There is a deleted scene where Dana asks why this is happening to her again, and Egon explains in a very technical way that she may be genetically predisposed to paranormal events.

Man, it's a shame what got left on the cutting room floor in that film. That tidbit and Ray driving while possessed would have been so cool to see.

It is a shame.

Alot of the deleted scenes are gold. Hardemeyer getting eaten by the slime is great.

The louis/slimer stuff and the extra Ray scenes would’ve definitely elevated it. Still a solid movie.

That would be an interesting twist! We know from the trailer that there is a flashback to a prior encounter with the Death Chill. So perhaps there was a hero way back when (Tobin?) that was able to defeat the villain? Maybe Ray is possessed by this hero so that he can help defeat the villain once more?

He might not be evil per se.
He might be possessed by Tobin for instance.
That would be an interesting take for Spirits unleashed. Tobin possessing Ray or the player character with the upcoming DLC for Sprits Unleashed.Tobin getting annoyed with the mortals visiting his realm without being dead and he decides to confront the Busters personally. I could see that plot coming for both Empire, and Unleashed.

I could see a bigger threat forcing them to work together but Tobin get's to close the ghost realm as an end result.

As for Vigo was he fully purged from Ray? An entity as powerful as Vigo could still leave traces behind allowing for a full return in a new form. This wouldn't be the first time Ray gets possessed as he was in the Video Game.

I have removed the previous post as while the video embedded in it does touch briefly on some stuff related to Frozen Empire, the majority of its running time appeared to be about a HasLab prop replica giveaway... It strayed a little too close to being too off-topic/looking like a spam post than I would've liked.
