Hase anyone had success in taking apart the CRT Emitters inside the cyclotron lid of a Haslab proton pack?

I would like to paint the internals of them and I realized they are rubber sleeves, but haven't had success either in getting the sleeve to slide out through the bottom without damage, nor by prying off the cap of the emitters.

I have heard soaking them in very hot water for a bit works. But I tried that on one and it did nothing.
