This isn’t what she says. It’s left ambiguous for audience interpretation, but we know earlier cuts of the movie implied more of a romantic interest. Eg. Trying to hold hands iirc.
My interpretation is that Phoebe sees it in a romantic way but Melody sees it more in a friendship way,and she's caught up on her Garraka plan to truly notice how much Phoebe cares.

Whitelock posted a montage of assorted sets/props/construction. Of note, props of the mayor's office's files on the GBs list
-Winston's DOB as June 17, 1945 (same as the IDW comics Winston)
-Ray's DOB as July 1, 1954 (seems they slightly modded from Aykroyd's)
-Peter's DOB as October 25, 1954

Agree.

What’s depressing is there are Ghostbusters groups sharing that article from McKenna to prove that there was no LGBT subtext. Because they’re “anti-woke” or homophobic or whatever.

Funny, when I got the audition, I wasn’t really feeling it, then I got bit by a dog...a ROTTWEILER (though I still love them), so I didn't get to send in a tape. Then days later, my manager reached out because producers really wanted me to send something to which I said... "Dang, alright Lord, you must really want me to do this." And I did. A couple days after that, I booked it which was also interesting because I did everything they said NOT to do. Lol. But when you got it, you got it, baby.
Two days on set. First day I did absolutely nothing but sleep, eat, and do some work in my trailer. Second day was looking to be the same. FINALLY, 7 hrs later, I get called to set. I’M READY! I meet the director, he goes over the scene, we run it. Now while the scene called for us to run from an imaginary storm, in real life, a storm is actually brewing and coming our way. So he comes back and says, “Scratch all that. Do this, do this, yadda, yadda, then go.” I do just that. Go back to mark for another take. Then the PA tells me I have to go back to the trailer until the storm passes.

Ugh. Ok.

Get back to my trailer, and 20 minutes later they tell me I can go home.

WHAT?!! I came here to work! But…these things happen, and I know this, yet, I pondered if I’d even make the cut. Welp…One-Take Kate is what I called it…and I made it in the movie!!!! And not just any movie, the Ghostbusters movie! Can’t wait to share with mom dukes because she absolutely loves the original.

In May 2023, I had booked a commercial + had an availability check for a movie. I was out of the country (a whole different time zone!) when I got an email from my agent asking me to do a self tape for a different unnamed feature film - which turned out to be GHOSTBUSTERS (called 'Firehouse' at the time). I had No equiptment, no tripod, no nothing Soooo I had to get creative & did my tape in the hotel laundry room using a remote as microphone prop I then did ANOTHERRr tape around 2AM after I got in from the 10 hour flight back home In the space of 5 days I had booked the role, signed my contract, did my fitting and was on set living my best actress life.

I must say one take away that sticks in my mind would have to be chatting to Dan Aykroyd about the price of Freddo Frogs at a craft table and how they will soon be worth more than gold… He pocketed three

That Dan hot dog story is very funny, also reminded me of something Egon would do,which kinda made me think while there's alot of Dan Aykroyd's own personality in Ray there also seems to be some of Dan in Egon's character. That serious, non cynical attitude "these will be worth more than gold" is straight up Egon.
Makes sense since Egon was also written by Dan

The movie leaves it up to interpretation intentionally(and probably because studios get kinda scared about lgbt couples but that's just my theory)
Either way,it leaves to us to read what's on screen. But the lgbt reading is just as valid as them just being friends.
People being bothered by something as harmless as that are pathetic

Just checked box office mojo. They're reporting $198,968,637 million world wide. So we should be hitting 200 million without any trouble. Do we have numbers from home video or streaming yet? If we can tack another 40 million between that and merch I could see a sequel getting greenlight without an issue.

It was close to that last week, is that just a $400,000 bump worldwide? If so the $200mill milestone maybe won’t get hit.

I don't think Box office Mojo's updated either. 400 million would be a nice number though. Maybe the dollar theatres can push us over. Maybe.

it's at 199 million right now on BOMojo. Can it still hit one more million?Would be nice to have all GB hit the 200 mark and not fall short when it's so close

Noticed that as well in their video, to be fair the turn did look sort of odd, I assumed the car rear was on some kind of rig with wheels to let it turn like that, but turns out it wasn't.

The shot in the movie is heavily doctored with, there are people walking,it's at night while the stunt has those massive studio lights on and the sirens are blasting.Could see the stunt being real and the VFX team used it as reference and put a digital ecto in there.
The car can do it,they just didn't use it.
Anyway,BO is at $199,789,320,could be another case of the movie already passing 200 million but the site takes a while to update

Is that shot doctored? I don't think so.
I'm pretty confident the footage we've seen from Luke Whitelock's instagram, from the non-Phoebe POV, is the rehearsals for the shot that eventually made it in the film.

There are two moments i remember of the Ecto peeling out of the firehouse. One is during the day where Phoebe watches it go from the Engine Bay.That one looks 100% practical and probably the one from the behind the scenes video.
The other moment is at night when Phoebe watches the Ecto from the upper floor through the window, that one looks fake or mixed with CG/practical and i assume is the one Red Letter Media pointed out. They mention something about the way the car turned looked fake and it kinda does even more so when i watch the behind the scenes stunt.

I've re-watched the scene, and I believe the only bit of CG work is the combination of two bits of live practical footage into a single shot:
Element #1: The footage of Mckenna with the window frame and the wrought-iron railing that went across it.
Element #2: The shot looking down at the street with Ecto-1 tearing around the corner, and the pedestrians walking about.

Beyond the digital composite, I'm confident the rest of the shot was real.

Just because Red Letter Media thought the shot was fake/CG doesn't mean it was.

1 thing I adore about Afterlife was how “real” it all felt. Even the CGI felt pretty dang real minus that 1 shot of the Ecto 1 jumping in the air(a shot we didn’t even need but that’s a minor nitpick). I completely buy the CG Egon 100% of the time. Just great work all around. Barely a misstep.

& I wish I had that feeling about Frozen Empire. So much of it felt confined & very set based. I enjoy the movie but there’s an artificiality to it that can take u out of the movie. I feel like out of the 2 movies if I had to guess — with a gun to my head I’d say Afterlife looks as if it cost more $ to make. But I guess not.

Have we seen any alternate Garraka designs yet? I’m not a huge fan on his design. The body shape mostly.

There's been very little in the way of concept designs that've popped up so far, and none featuring Garraka as far as I'm currently aware. What was wrong with his body shape?
