I discovered this paint today while looking for a substitute to the Krylon Italian Olive. I wasn't too happy with the finish I got out of it and desired something a bit darker. I stumbled upon this model paint today and it seems like a pretty damned close match.

It's steep for such a tiny can, but the finish is smooth and just the right level of matte.

I was introduced to Tamiya paint by Nick-a-tron. After his recommendation I use Tamiya Silver Leaf on all my resin parts that were originally aluminium. Its a fantastic paint

Luckily, I have a hobby shop down the road that carries EVERY colour Tamiya has to offer. I know where I'm going this weekend! Thanks for the info.

I would have to agree , I just repainted my spirit echo goggles with the Tamaiya TS- 28 olive drab 2 and they came out amazing . I got a little overzealous and I tried to take the headstrap off not realizing how hard getting that rivet out would be , never attempted anything like that before and the rivet fell into the goggles so all I could hear was the little piece moving around all over and it drove me insane . So I drilled a bigger hole and widened it and used a heavy duty magnet to pull the river close and grabbed it with my pliers and after that I was left with a gaping hole in the top of the goggles . Used some epoxy putty and within 20 minutes it was hard as steel , so I sanded it down and now you can’t even tell , so I primed the goggles and then painted the olive color and they came out so good! Also ordered a D ring with a screw plate to replace the rivet for holding the strap , this way it will look more accurate . I’ll post some pictures when I am all done , my taping skills were also put to the test with these and I think I did alright , I like building models but I hate taping , but that’s the nature of the beast. But in short , the ts-28 olive drab 2 is amazing . I’m so happy with how they turned out . All I have left is to paint the screws and weather it up and add the decals . Figured I’d post this incase anyone had any questions about how to get the rivet out , or you could try to pull the face plate off but I almost broke it trying to do that , it is possible but I didn’t feel confident enough I wouldn’t snap them . But all in all it is totally worth the effort .
