Hi everyone! I’m new here and just beginning my cosplay adventure as a Ghostbuster. I’m planning to build a foam proton pack and modify various other items, like the ecto-goggles. I've also bought a 1989 Kenner Ghost Trap, which I plan to modify with lights and some smoke effects, thanks to a small-sized smoke machine.
I’m a member of the 501st Star Wars cosplaying group (TIE Fighter detachment), so I know that screen accuracy is everything there and sometimes I find the pressure in being completely screen accurate a little overwhelming. I’d like to be screen-accurate with my proton pack, but I’m very tempted to add my own touches with the ecto-googles and ghost trap. Do many Ghostbusters fans deviate from screen accuracy?
I know the ghost trap usually has yellow chaser LEDs, but I’m considering green chaser LEDs because I think they’d look cool against the black. I’m looking forward to sharing my modifications here on the forum and learning from all the amazing prop builders and modifiers. I'd be really pleased if anyone could share their advice or perhaps explain some of their own modifications away from screen accurate models. Thanks!
