GBNews have the full details… but it’s a slap in the face to those who pre-ordered last week, don’t know what they’re thinking when the price has been so controversial.

Fine. Fine.
It's fine.

The 2 packs, basically are around for a month and that's it, you won't have another chance to get them. For instance, Peter and Samhain are available to order until November 26. After that, you deal with sellers on ebay if you want one.

The single Ghostbuster version, they tend to stick around until Mondo runs out and/or online vendors like Entertainment Earth run out. There are some single versions from Batman: The Animated Series that went up for pre-order between now and 1 year ago that are still in stock on their site.

They ship to Europe.

Bottom line you’ll be paying around $250 for them shipped. That’s the cheapest you’ll ever get them.

Edit: It did cross my mind whether UK fans collecting these should bulk order together and save on shipping… but the logistics and hassle of organising that probably negates any savings we might make.

Holy smokes! Now I get why some of international fans were mad when they announced free domestic shipping on their site.

edit: Peter, Slimer and Samhain on display at Designer Con.

Yeah. The shipping isn't really the worst part, it's the import taxes. Esp to western Europe (minus UK). For example I bought a Snow Wolf M41A Pulse Rifle 900rpm AEG Airsoft (because Aliens is my second favorite all time movie). In the US this costs $369.

I had to pay $454 for the gun purchased from the UK, pay $30 shipping to the Netherlands then pay $104 import duties.

Total: $588 for something available in the US for $369.

And it's not like we are rich over here. We pay 6 times more for gasoline than people in the US and we have similar salaries, plus we pay compulsory health insurance of $150 every month. Also our freak dining has our sheeple used to paying $14-$18 for a hamburger. I even saw a shop advertise a hamburger for $23,20 last week.

So if you see a European with an expensive collectible (expensive for you), he/she had to likely pay almost twice as much to add it to their fan collection.

This is one reason I believe the Haslabs did so well. They had European distributors that circumvented the import tax (Zavvi for the Pack and Hasbro themselves for the Two in the Box). The pack was $399 in the US and we had it shipped and in hand for $452, Two in the Box $299 for USA, in hand for us at $360,... which were absolute -steals- in our world.

The Mondo RGB would be neat to have but I don't think it's worth 4x$318= $1272

humina humina humina! Oh right, European Union stuff. Is that the reason for the import taxes? I think I remember reading EU set up these tariffs/import taxes to 'encourage' people to only buy / ship stuff from another EU country. So called "economic protectionism". But others think the EU is just skimming gains from the taxation.

I'm parting with my Diamond Select Egon & Peter because that was the deal I made with myself to justify the money for these. But I have to say after seeing YHS post an image of Jacob holding them... either he is a giant among men, or these Mondo figures are kinda small. I also sort of like the Diamond Select proportions better because they look more Season 1... but I have to be strong... overall consistently better quality sculpts and ghosts will be worth it.

If I may make a suggestion... If you can, maybe put a temporary pause on selling the Diamond Select figures just until we know for certain we'll be getting Ray and Winston from Mondo (just in case the Mondo line isn't as successful as we hope, and it gets cancelled... I don't wish to consider this possibility, and hope the line does well... But we live in uncertain times, financially).

Knowing how much of a pain it was to find Diamond Select RGB Egon and get him for something even close to a reasonable price, I wouldn't want to have to go through that experience again unless I really had to.

The Mondo figures are only slightly bigger than 6 inches in height.

As for the sculpts, Mondo's feel to me the more faithful depiction of the cartoon's character designs:

This is great advice and I appreciate it. The Diamond Select Ray sculpt was so bad I never picked up the set beyond Egon & Peter - and I feel we're guaranteed we'll get Peter and Egon from Mondo at least - and I need the sale to subsidise the cost of those. I saw a full 4-figure DS set go for £250. and I think half of that is probably on Egon as he was so rare, so I'm hoping someone is willing to pay a slightly unreasonable price to take the bite out of the Mondo purchase. I guess I'll find out!

Yeah agree the sculpts are way better but the body proportions are slightly short compared to the cartoon and in relation to the head sculpts. Not a big deal really.

Also for UK people PropsandReplicas are selling the individual Ghostbuster pack at a cheaper price without import costs:

https://www.propsandreplicas.co.uk/prod ... 29fa&_ss=r

Not sure I'd want to risk them if Mondo run out of stock... and doesn't included the ghost packs anyway.

Who knows. I mean the countries are good, we have almost no crime, roads are good, you get unlimited health care, but we pay through the roof in taxes. A new Porsche 911 costs $150,000 in the US and $270,000 in The Netherlands.

Anyway, I'll stop ranting about our taxes and not derail this thread further.

This is 1000% preferable than lower taxes but broken public services, roads, high crime, private health care / insurance etc. Capitalism regulated by social conscience is the only path to a good quality of life for the many. If Europe can withstand the onslaught it is facing from corrupt right wing populists and tech billionaires, it will be the best place to live in the world.

Which means I’d rather pay $300 for my luxury ghostbusters items, then $150 and eg. have to pay privately for healthcare.

Here's a couple galleries of photos taken by LordBobasaurus that give a greater illustration of Peter (and by extension the other Ghostbusters') posing range:

Thanks a lot! So they can reach their head and the pack wands, that's great. I'd still like it to bend a bit more but I can live with it. I think I would have went crazy for figures like these when I was a kid. (and if they were the same price so would have my parents)
