another one coming up for auction. brace yourselves. This one will either maintain the current benchmark of 270K+buyers premium, or set a new standard either higher or lower.

edit: sold for 160K plus buyers premium. it has a lot of inaccuracies, but it was a killer deal.

The rack on that one is just bad. If you're gonna have the right car, maybe go the extra mile and get good components for the rack.

NOW SOLD

As highlighted by Carpathian_Kitten in this topic, a decent replica of the 2016 Ecto-1 is going under the hammer as the Rods & Bodz car is liquidating its stock.

The auction claims the car was "one of four" used in Answer The Call (as far as I'm aware, there were only three cars - two full Ecto-1 builds, and a black 1984 Cadillac that had the yellow beacon added to it, which was used for the hot dog cart stunt), however as this car appears to be built from a 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood hearse, rather than a 1984 model, I think that claim doesn't pass the sniff test.

It's not for the faint of heart. but gone are the days of a $30K turn key 59MM. Now it's either 8-25K for a 59 something like this, or 100-300 for a 59 that needs little. Every once in a while you can find a decent 59 for 50-70K... To get an accurate replica, this hobby is now for those with lots of skill and time, or lots of money. Worse cars have sold for more

That's my question to. Are we getting the fixer upper, or are we getting the fully restored vehicle in the other pic? They aren't very specific other then parts are new. Maybe 10 k less I could see myself taking interest.

The seller is "CaddyGirlGarage" on YT and Instagram.

She has sold a number of coaches semi recently, and has been around a while. This coach in particular has been up for sale a number of times. After it failed to sell, she claimed she was going to finish the restoration and just keep it. Since then, she replaced the heater core, and painted the rear end/axles/leaf springs.

She hates this community (pretty sure at least one of the Millers she sold in the last few years is destined to be an Ecto...) and also suffers from "I know what i got" mentality for this. In reality, its a great condition 60 that she started "restoring", then fell into the trap that so many others do... not realizing the work and money that goes into it. She seems better suited to driver quality survivors that only need minor work, as she has had many of those on her socials that she buys and sells.

The car will need motor and trans work from what i remember, and are both out of the car. It IS in remarkable shape, and seemingly ready for a 59 conversion and LS swap, as its mostly apart already.

The black Eureka in the photos i think was included to show what this car COULD look like after some effort, and is not included with the sale.

In the state that the car is in, i think no more than 12K... but she has other ideas it seems, since it has been for sale on and off for so long.

Boys, sorry to say I kept this one to myself so I could finally get one after 18 years of starting this thread and posting them for others.

I'll still be searching for them and posting them here for you all to save and convert, don't worry

edit: removed pics for now
