I'd love to see a Hasbro
Ghostbusters Firehouse, but I think we need to stop using
Star Wars merchandise as precedent.
We can use them for things like figure scale, and maybe sculpt quality, but we shouldn't be assuming that because they've made some elaborate vehicles or playsets for the
Star Wars range that we'd ever see the same consideration made for things from the
Ghostbusters universe... The
Star Wars fandom and merchandise machine is a juggernaut when compared to ours... And brings in a lot more money for Hasbro than we ever will.
I'm a little amazed they actually decided to develop the HasLab Ecto-1/1A... And fortunately it got green-lit, but I wouldn't expect something of that size and complexity to be regular occurrance with Hasbro. It might've even been one of the last big hurrahs of the Hasbro
Ghostbusters line.
I just feel we need to temper our expectations and use a smaller franchise as the basis of what could be done figure/vehicle/playset-wise, maybe something like
John Carpenter's The Thing,
Back to the Future, or '80s
Tron.
