Especially thinking about how easy video calls have become over the last five years he could have gotten away with a live zoom call. That would be a great way for Haslab to announce their next project, too.

Mm, aside from the LA City Council event, 2024's GB Day had reveals for the two games and merch with Puma and HasLab teasing their upcoming products. We already know Hasbro is gonna reveal things in NY where Jason is gonna be so feels like Hasbro will be the big reveal this year.

Also, Netflix has their big Tudum event on May 31 so there's a chance at least the new animated series will get a reveal there. More info on Tudum 2025 here: https://www.netflix.com/tudum/features/ ... live-event

Reality: Jason helps Hasbro reveal new toys.

Haha, I don’t know...seems odd he would attend just for Hasbro and/or a trailer for the cartoon.
Dark reality: Jason shows up and burns the original film prints of the movies, declares the franchise dead forever, and begins handing out cease and desist papers to everyone wearing any kind of GB merch.

If they ever announce a new film.
“Pheobe VS the Boogieman “ Or go home and stop making the movies. Lol

Winston and Ray can console her on how they remember when her Grandfather struggled with his fear when facing the creature.

The movie practically writes itself

No offence each to their own, but it doesn't write itself, would need a lot of reworking from the cartoon to make it work on the big screen.

From the cartoon I think Collect Call of Cathulhu or Sandman would make the most intriguing movie premise.
Even Sam Hain has more potential that Boogieman. All of them would need extensive changes.

So they'll probably do something original again and that's for the best.

No offense taken.

If we agreed on everything, it wouldnt be a discussion.

While i'd love ANY kind of live action inclusion of RGB villains.

I feel like the essence of Sam and Sandman were already covered with Garakka. Eternal Night/Dreamland = Eternal Ice Age.

But with Boogeyman..we can make another personal story for the Pheobe's arc. She finally finds an entity that breaks down her guard, mirroring her grandfather's history with the monster.

Can have her question the control she has over her own emotions--there's the quick exchange in Afterlife how ghosts don't affect her emotions, they only stimulate her scientifically.

There's alot you could do from there in terms of personal story arc and stakes--it also doesn't shoehorn in the OG involvement--its something they handled before and Phoebe needs their guidance. it balances it out.

It be cool to see Pheobe and Podcast in a gritty version of the Boogeyman realm.

There's also ways you can adapt elements of Sandman and mix it into the Boogeyman's lore to stretch the movie out.

Boogey could have the ability to make people's fears into reality and soon there's spectral manifestations of kid's dreams/nightmares that he's controlling--can have them bust a ghost only to find out--the spiritual energy disperses once they try to import it into the Ecto Research Center.

What would need reworking in your opinon?

I'd just rather any potential movies do new baddies and keep RGB baddies to other things (like Samhain in Spirits Unleashed). I've seen Boogieman, I haden't seen Garraka until last year. Would I be hyped for them taking one of the old favorites and bringing them to (after)life? Absolutely! But I also want to be introduced to new guys who never get action figures that clearly deserve them.

I would say it is what you and your group make of it.

Regarding the between films blues and the yet to been animated series there is still plenty of opportunities to gather and it's convention season (At least here in the Pacific Northwest)

If you're in a group plan a meetup, a picnic, BBQ or gear maintenance day.
If you are in search of a group take a look at the regional listings in this forum.

lastly, don't be afraid to ask and happy busting.

Also i wouldn’t say its “dormant” per se.

Its still around—it just didnt set the world on fire like it did in 84-90–its settling back into “cult status” which im cool with, i think its clicks better as a niche rather than forcing it into a “transformers” “marvel” level franchise.

It was a product of its time, and thats okay. Im glad we had a really great revival with video games, comics, and 2 new sequels…TWO! Im still processing that. Remember when GB3 was a myth for 20 years?

We have a new cartoon to look forward to at the very least (however the timing the is weird. They should have released it in between films to create hype and new audiences but thats just me).

Over the next month or so we have

-GBII Funkos
-RGB Visual History

Ghostbusters Day
-New Hasbro Drop

It’s also highly likely to coincide with
-Mondo Winston Preorders
-Mondo Peter shipping
-Animated series announcement/reveal/date
-Possibly even a third Afterlife movie announcement

Based on them revising the website and pushing the RGB promo through various channels the franchise is kinda buzzing towards this GB Day.

3 days until we find out if GBDAY is going to be everything we hoped for! Do we want Haslab to do a full reveal of the next project, or do you think we're going to get a simple teaser as before?
#5004834
I don't think we're gonna get a HasLab announcement as there's a new Transformers HasLab being announced on the 10th. If anything, they'll just have a closer-to-release version of Ecto-1 on hand.

I think he'll give it a brief mention hopefullly amid an update that gives us a loose timeline of the next 4 projects, the animated movie, the animated streaming series, the animated streaming movie, the next live action movie. I'm not looking for Marvel Studios spectacle, just give me a sentence that gives us all a rough idea of what comes out when in addition to helping Hasbro plug merch and hopefully he also plugs the comic.

It would be hella awesome if Jason showed up in full regalia like Bill had at the video game awards. Hey guys, guess what? I'm wearing Haslab's next project and there's new movies! Although I wouldn't hold my breath.

It was the Scream Awards, not a video game aware ceremony.
It'd be a bit too much to expect Jason to appear in full gear.

I wouldn't say dormant. I would simply say that as mentioned when GB day 2025 happens tomorrow we'll likely see some things pop up and they might not be HUGE drops like films but you also have to pace this stuff...Star Wars and Marvel were choking us and the views show...as the writing does. But GB stuff we have a Haslab coming and maybe we'll see next year a new prop drop like goggles but not sure what else that's really well known they will drop with it.

I'd like to see a live action series truthfully. I know the animated one is on the way but I also think of those JP Camp and Young Jedi Adventure cartoons and I'm not really a follower there so I hope its maybe a bit more adult or mature but have to see.

Not really, because it's not dormant.
