Yeah i checked out the site, they still have a ton of parts in pre oder...and i know the macs factory stuff has been around since before Afterlife released!

Thats why i never got into those build it at home by mail sets like the Ecto-1. I hate having to pay a subscription fee to have a company hopefully send you parts for what your building at their pace.

I rather just buy all the parts upfront and build it on my own time.

You wouldn't piecemeal a lego set would you? I wouldn't. that would drive me insane.

Mack probably doesn't have the man and time resources to do everything all in one go... I get that it's frustrating having to wait on things, but he doesn't have a big factory and an appropriate-sized workforce to churn these parts out at an industrial scale/rate.

All the great packs were pieced together. People spending years collecting vintage parts and specialty vendors. Mack’s factory stuff is worth waiting for.

It’s a mockup of the final product, which is nearly a year away. Will people find fault? Sure. Ironically it’s probably the same folks that would get ahold of a screen used one and complain all the while pointing out how the one they spent thousands of dollars on is better in every conceivable way.

Listen. It’s licensed merch and likely going to be pretty damn good. Will folks tinker and tweak it? Sure. Will others be perfectly happy with it bone stock? You bet.

Short version… I’m excited. I preordered. It’s a childhood dream made manifest and I for one refuse to let cantankerous keyboard commandos or cosplay snobs dampen my enthusiasm.

Yep it’s backwards on all the finished products. If you look at the prototype pictures on the Haslab website it’s shown the right way as intended. With the entirely flat part on the outside as one would expect.

Pretty easy to fix if you take your pack apart and unbolt it from inside. Then you might have to re countersink the holes

I don't have the Haslab pack but I've helped re-holster a few Haslab wands during events, never realised that the hook was backwards! I just thought it was poorly designed (which is probably why several of my franchise members have since upgraded to real V-Hooks).

It was right there in the 2021 prototype photos all this time:


By the time of the 2022 Hasbro Pulse livestream it had been flipped backwards:


And as you pointed out, it's backwards on the new 84 pack:

I went to do this change and found its not just a simple flip swap, the indents in the hook go the wrong way so the screw heads dont sit flush with the inside of the hook. Would need some modification.

Bummer. Makes sense from a cost saving standpoint, and I’m sure someone will reproduce them. I wonder if there will still be nuts imbedded in the motherboard holes?

GB News confirmed the '84 pack will still have the placement and threading for the bracket holes as the Spengler Proton Pack has.

Obviously the announcement that the upcoming '84 pack does not include mounting hardware was a bit frustrating. But it seems to me that all that is needed is 5 U Shaped Brackets (of differing sizes), two round Spacers, and the bolts to attach.
Could someone who brought the Hasbro Afterlife pack give measurements of the brackets, spacers and screws included with the pack? These can't be that hard to find...

GB News got some updates from Hasbro
-The new version features a range of reworked parts explicitly tailored to the original 1984 film design.
-Hasbro also confirmed that the final product will differ from the images shared earlier this month.
- In response to fan feedback, adjustments have already been made, most notably, the small round discs beneath the booster tube have been retooled, altering the ‘dimples‘ that were visible in the prototype.
-Additionally, the switches that were located inside the cyclotron of the HasLab Spengler Pack, used to toggle modes and activate the rumble feature, have been completely removed since the new pack will feature only the lights and sounds from the original Ghostbusters.

So its been awhile since I've been back to the boards, admittedly it was the 1984 pack. Feeling a little overwhelmed trying to read so many threads on so many new projects(No big deal, I'll get there lol). My question stems from motherboards and the Haslab motherboard size differences, since the new announcement of no hardware included with the 1984 packs.

Does it fit on existing motherboards or is the size different so you have to get X or Y motherboard only? I believe I have a GBFans motherboard from a decade ago when I was accumulating parts to build a pack. Will the hasbro pack fit it?

I'm sure there will be. But seeing as the hardware is likely available at local hardware stores I figured It'd be cheaper than buying the same thing off second party...

I wasn't thinking along those lines, it was more like "well since there's no included hardware, why not see if I can just swap the MOBO since I've already got one."

I think I saw one already being made and preorders for an 84 aluminum motherboard are being taken but the name escapes me at the moment, so you're right they're going to be there. I was just wondering if what I had would fit it, or vice versa.
