Surprised this is only just being reported, it changed on their site end of December.

This capsule line doesn’t appear to be limited edition, happy with the figures, and would love the Ecto but I bailed on the order yet again. Maybe if it were limited to 500 units or something there’d be incentive. (No idea on the production size) but it feels like the Ecto Glow series is plenty available.

Also cancelled my Dead Man’s Chest order as well. Mondo takes priority but also I’m slightly burnt out on Ghostbusters merch, and this stuff is on the lower end of the quality/demand spectrum.

In a way im glad both the pack and the ecto glow ecto 1 got pushed until may. I need money short term for a family emergency and was thinking i dont need this pre order draining the well as it were. So this works out for me personally but i get why people may feel upset about it.

Its only 2 months anyway. Mondo did the same thing with the Peter and Egon figures. My mindset is when it comes to the 84 pack, as long as i have it by halloween this year, im good...(we got 10 months until then so i got plenty of time to get it, get a Alice Frame for it, the connector points for the frame which will have to be off Etsy, get some kind of stand or mount for it since it does not come with one, upgrade the hose for it cause the spengler pack hose is horrible but im not modding that as that was hard enough to get on its own and not so easy to replace and i want to keep that one stock) and then slim down to fit in a better fitting uniform for halloween.

So to me, delaying the pack, works out in the long run. its not like im going to be running around wearing it to go grocery shopping or anything lol. The Ecto glow ecto 1 is a bit more of a bummer but its just going up on a shelf next to my open ecto glow figures, (and eventually slimer and stay puft and louis) so im cool with waiting a bit longer for those too. I dont like delays, but they happen.

I figure if i could wait an entire year for the haslab ecto 1's....i can wait 2 more months for these things. Also, we all had to wait 19 months for Afterlife to hit theaters, remember, and that was BRUTAL...most of us made it though.... plus the entire world is now waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6, which is what, 10 months away, delayed twice... common...this is nothing to wait 2 months.

we got this guys.

Chicken, He Clucked wrote: January 22nd, 2026, 11:21 am I guess the only worry is the reasons behind this delay.

Could the remaining Ecto Glow series be cancelled if sales fall short of targets?
When you pre-order on Hasbro Pulse or any toy company, always expect a delay. Probably just a production hiccup overseas, need to do a few more tweaks on paint or glow, or shipping logistics. Nothing really to lose sleep over.

They seem too far along on Ecto Copter and Louis to cancel them, what comes after them? I guess it would take consecutive rounds of low pre-order/sales numbers for it to get the axe. Or will the Ecto Glow line be fairly insulated in 2026 because of the anniversary? Shrug.

Most of Hasbro's Ghostbusters stuff is listed as sold out. You can still get the Ecto Glow stuff, but the rooftop set, the 84 pack, all gone, which makes total sense. Most people beyond us Die Hard Ghost Heads dont even know about the Ecto Glows existence. I diden't even know they existed until long after the original run. So im not shocked those are still in stock, but everything else sans the plasma series smaller scale Ecto 1 is long sold out on their site, which tells me there is support for the brand and people are buying them. Im certain that alone would fuel hasbro to keep the line going even without a major movie or tv show due for atleast a year if not longer.

If i had to guess, this being the 40th Anniversary of The Real Ghostbusters, this fall, we might get some more retro figures...Maybe a Reissue of the classic firehouse (one can hope)... Or maybe a haslab campaign for a firehouse for the ecto 1's? Im sure they could easly put out more retro figures...but i dont see anything beyond that this year.

Going forward though, i think their is only so many things you can do that arent some variation of a re-issue of something we all ready have....Maybe a repaint of the haslab Ecto 1 in rusted colors for Afterlife, or the red stripe drone version from frozen empire? (The 84 proton pack is just a resculpt of the Spengler pack...lets be honest here, and thats great, that sold out...so their is clearly demand for it).

I just dont see what elese hasbro can really do at this point beyond more Kenner Classics? At best, a plasma series line of Frozen Empire stuff maybe? But even that would be just re issues of other figures. Who would we get thats new? Callie and Garry figures? A older Podcast? Lars? Maybe an Ecto-C chopper with Library Ray, Podcast and Phoebe? Figures of Garaka and Vigo?

Like they would have put those out with the movie 2 years ago. I dont know why they diden't. Im just saying without a new movie or series, i think we are just getting retro stuff for the foreseeable future

With Kenner they can keep doing reissues of whichever waves they haven't done yet and/or release more of the unreleased toys like Egon's Lab or Fire Frighter. Though with Ecto Glow, after a long absence of Kenner releases, this was an interesting choice to focus on one theme. Maybe the next one will be focused on reissuing certain vehicles like Ecto-2 then end the wave with releasing the 2 unmade ones, Fire Frighter and the Ghost Removal Service (garbage truck).

The other lines, well that's for the other threads.

Oh i would love that.....If i had a say in what they re released....id like the slimed heros set with Janine and Louis as well. That and the Backpack heros line...that be cool...maybe even the space suit ones? Athough i never loved the idea of the ghostbusters in space. I get they did it in an episode of the cartoon series, but i always like the idea they were down to earth exterminators....Ghosts in space sounds like one of those stupid ideas they rejected from the reboot. Keep the team grounded. You can have fun with the idea in action figures, none of that stuff is Cannon, and even the cartoon its like "Well its a kids cartoon" but keep that stuff far away from live action as possible.

But the re released stuff would be amazing. Id love the idea of the fire and garbage trucks. That be an instant buy. Egons lab, sold! Ecto 2...please...i dont think i had an ecto 2. I had the dune buggy and the airplane and the street sweeper. (Id buy those again too)

The unreleased items from the Kenner line are what I'd most like to see in the future. Specifically, Egon's lab and the Backpack Heroes. Hopefully, there would be a market for them. Perhaps they would sell better than later waves due to them being unreleased. Either way, they have my money.

I think they could continue with Screaming Heroes, Super Fright Features, Power Pack Heroes, Haunted Humans…

It would also be unlikely but maybe expanding the Fright Features range with colourful new interpretations of the new cast with new mechanisms / features. Not sure the market is there, though.

Because Ghostbusters isn't nearly as popular as Star Wars.
...you're not wrong, but maybe it's popular enough for one wave? As a Pulse exclusive?

Yeah...but...those kinda sucked to be honest with ya. It still boggles my mind how modern day figures (meant for kids) feel cheeper and lesser quality then the ones we got. Maybe its just im looking back fondly with rose colored glasses, but even with the re releases of the Kenner Classics line...Compairing a 86 The Real Ghostbusters figure with the basic pack, and ghost, to the Afterlife/ Frozen empire basic figures...The ghost sucked. They were just meh at best. The Kenner Classic Ghosts were nice transparent plastic figures that felt like there was effort put into them. Hell the packs had attached proton streams, the modern figures diden't even get that. Also, its all the same body with different head sculpts. I think Phoebe is the only figure with a diffrent body and thats because shes smaller. With the Kenner classic line, it felt like each figure got its own unique sculpt. (Im sure Peter, Ray and Winston all are the same body too though). Idk...the older figures feel like more love and effort were put into them. The modern ones feel rushed out the door to me.

It's not that boggling, toy companies are trying to maximise their profits by reducing the overall quality and cutting expenses while charging us more at the point of sale. :sigh:

Weren't we supposed to have a pre-order for the Ecto-Glow Copter during NYTF? If so, it never happened. Also, it was completely absent at Hasbro's booth from what I could make out online. Did sales of the other Ecto-Glow offerings warrant the production of this vehicle or did this toy get cancelled for a third time (RGB Kenner / Police Academy Kenner / Plasma Hasbro) ?

No, pre-orders start at San Diego Comic Con in July.

The modern Hasbro Fright Features certainly felt that way. If they’d given the overalls a unique colour for each Buster and packed in quality ghost designs they would’ve sold a lot more. Podcast’s was probably the best with the mini Bug-Eye. But overall the beige overalls and lacklustre ghosts meant they didn’t feel like an extension of Fright Features. If they’d given them transparent plastic ghosts and the same card design as the Kenner ones then they’d have been more popular.

In spite of the Louis Tully action figure and the Ecto Glow Copter sitting out New York Toy Fair, I am still really excited for their release. Out of all of the unreleased Real Ghostbusters toys from Kenner , The Ecto Glow copter always stood out for me for its unique design. Really pleased that all these years later, it is finally getting its due.

Right now with the retro kenner classics line, my one dream item is just the firehouse re released. I usually buy the retro line in duplicate, one to keep open, one to display on card on the wall, but the firehouse, i just want something where i can put the figures (or some of them) as part of a diorama. Im 42, im not going to play with them like i was 4 on my den floor while the Burger King VHS Copies of some of the episodes play on the 13 inch Magnavox tv in my den lol....but id still like a proper "Home" for them to display them properly that isn't a 3rd party backdrop display meant for a different scale of figure.

Even as a kid, that always nagged at my OCD (before i even knew i had OCD or what it was). You always saw the TV Spots of the toys with the kids playing with the figures with these cool city like backdrops, and no toy company ever sold that stuff. Not for Ghostbusters, GI Joe, Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Terminator, Aliens, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, etc. They were all marketing props to sell the figures. But i always wished they sold not a playset...but a for lack of a better term "Scenery Set" for the figures too. The firehouse was not only a playset (and lets be honest here, it wasnt that great of a playset in terms of say the Jurassic Park sets with the command center and fence and net and tranq missles, or the Mobile Lab Trailer playset from the lost world where you had all this functionality to trap and work on dinosaurs....the firehouse was what it was meant to be, a home for the Ecto 1, you could make the figures slide down the fire pole, and drip slime though the overhead grate...and lets be brutally honest here, a cool but practically lame containment unit that only housed a single ghost IF IT FIT, but it brought the ghostbusters home ya know. It was both a playset, and a backdrop/diorama for the ghostbusters. The only thing that could make it better was just a cardbord stand of the city in the backround.

The unreleased stuff is fantastic, but call me old fashion but i also want my open figures to have a better "Home" then just a dusty bookshelf lol.

And if haslab put out a scaled firehouse for the Ecto 1's....id back that in an instant!

I’m probably in the minority but I think these Ecto Glow toys are really overpriced.

We know the price of a similar (basically the same just doesn’t glow) Ecto1 with the FE release. Worse you can buy detailed die cast movie models for around $40. If a Slimer/Stay Puft pack were released now without the retro context (FE or not) they’d definitely be around $30. There’s many toy sets like that for $25-30.

It’s not right. They’re only priced higher based on Kenner nostalgia. There’s no other reason. I know glowing versions didn’t exist before but that’s not the point.

I actually still have my original RGB Stay Puft that a friend got for me and I have the recent Mini Puft lamp which lights up. I have a few Ecto-1s and Slimers but if I didn’t I can easily get ones for half the price.

I kinda feel you on them being more then they need to be, espically since they are just glow in the dark variations of the original wave/ recreations of what kenner did towards the end of the original line. Idk how much glow in the dark paint or plastic costs them, but i doubt its that much. That said, i allready have pre orders, and im sticking to them, the question is with the recent hacks which i get happens, but im not happy about, are they going to be delayed further? Im genunily wondering whats going to go on there...as next month i owe them nearly 400 dollars for the 84 proton pack and ecto glow ecto 1....if that gets pushed into june-Summer im actually ok with that but it would be its 2nd delay. We were supposed to have all of these things by now.

What drives me up a wall is they dont offer the one thing i truly want...a REAL GHOSTBUSTERS FIREHOUSE re release. That nags at me big time cause i would drop 100 dollars easy on a re release of that classic playset. Dont get me wrong im all for more retro waves of figures too like the BackPack Heroes or the color changing figures that came out around the time of Ghostbusters 2 (i forget the name at the moment)....and even the classic monsters line of figures they did with the mummy and dracula....BUT WHERE THE HELL IS THE FIREHOUSE? COMMON HASBRO...THESE FIGURES NEED THE FIREHOUSE TO FEEL COMPLETE. I need my classic Ecto 1 and first wave of open figures sitting in the firehouse on display!

GIVE US THAT please. 100 dollars for that IS OVER PRICED undoubly consistering the original price was what, 50 dollars tops when new back in the 80s? So im willing to pay double what originally was less then 50 dollars 40 years ago....inflation is a B&$#H but it aint THAT BAD, (yet) and yet im still willing to pay you double for that firehouse and most fans are likely willing to as well because in order for any of us who dont have one currently, to find one complete, in reasonable condition with missing lose parts, to clean and restore it and 3D print replacement parts would likely cost us way more then 100 dollars....i mean its easy money for you guys!

PLEASE ANNOUNCE IT AT GHOSTBUSTERS DAY this year...what a wonderful way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Real Ghostbusters! I know you guys read the fourms.... common!

I was willing to pay whatever they asked for the previous Ecto Glow figures, due to them being re-releases of what were rare figures. But I do agree that these repainted additions to the line are overpriced. I'm also much more interested in the Copter and Louis than I am in getting the Ecto or two-pack.
