I neglected to mention but during the YHS Holiday Stream-A-Thon: about 74 min in, Pat demonstrated the '84 Proton Pack's overheat function, revealed the packaging and Emily confirmed once preorders are shipped they will look at what remaining inventory there is and put it online.

I have to admit, as impressed and pleased as I am with the wand, I was very surprised to see we get maybe 30 seconds of play before it goes into overheat and shuts down. I mean the guys fire for more than 30 seconds in the movie. We should be able to as well.

I wonder if they will given they made a point to say they decided to make new GB1 figures to compliment the Ecto because they didnt realize that not everyone may have them from years' past. I feel this would fall into that same category.

Unless, of course, they did mention it and I'm just a big buffoon.

I'll have to double check but pretty sure I asked twice in the live chat, too, but they didn't comment on the wand.

Also, I wonder if s/o with expertise in coding would in theory be able to extend the amount of time it takes for the wand to overheat...

the changes to the LEDs are terrible IMO. If they wanted to remove afterlife option completely then just leave it as 1 LED or diffuse the lens more

I can appreciate that they’re trying new things to separate this from the Spengler pack, but 84 mode on the Spengler with 1 middle LED, and 84 on my GPStar modded pack/LED combo is also amazing.

It is only a production sample so it's not final. I'm sure Pat noticed it or if not, they'll see this thread.

While I can patiently wait (it will be a nice "end of the school year gift" - I work at a college), I am minorly bummed as I was hoping to wear it to C2E2 this year. In any case, I can only imagine them working on it longer to make it even better!

@Mac1701: I feel for you, I just read the email from Hasbro Pulse myself today. Along with the new James Bond video game from I O Interactive "007: First Light", (which has also been delayed from March to May to polish the game further), I was looking forward getting my Proton Pack in March. Still, I am looking forward to enjoying both items when I do finally have them in hand.

I got the email too. I wished they could have least gave an explanation. Other than it being a present, more unfortunately than that, it takes me out of May The 4th Star Wars sales.

June is for the UK and not delayed, at least that is what I remember reading.

While a bummer, This works out for me better....i got a big family emergency going on right now and having these items delayed helps me out in the short term. Normally id be upset, but after last year with Peter and Egon's The Real Ghostbusters Figures getting delayed...im just like...what ever....they charge me when the pack and ecto-1 glow ship, so come may instead of Feburary and March, i pay for them both...and i still (as of now) have Winston to look forward to from mondo next month, and then the rooftop set in March.

By some strange fate, I just logged in to the Hasbro sight and it showed low stock. I purchased right away and it is out of stock again, sooooo lucky I got one. Now time to sell the Spangler pack and Wand to pay for the 84 pack. Does Hasbro charge right away or when it's ready to ship out?

Could be someone cancelled a pre-order and some low stock returned to the site.

Card gets charged when it's ready to be shipped. In your confirmation email, it should say as much in the text. So should charge around late April/early May knock wood.

Actually works out better for me. I was kinda hoping for a delay, that way my finances are in better shape come June. Its not that big of a deal. its not like its pushed back to the fall. Its only a month. The Mondo The Real Ghostbusters Figures were Delayed by 2-3 months if i remember correctly.

They don't charge at time of transaction for pre-orders. The charge won't be until it arrives at their warehouse and about to ship.

You know, between Mondo (You pay when you place your order and it can be months before you get it) and Hasbro paying for when it ships, i much prefer to pay upfront and get it when ever it arrives. Know why? Cause then i don't have to remember and budget ahead, its allready paid off, i just got to wait for it to ship and arrive. With Hasbro, you got to jump on the pre-order bandwagon, hope you secure one, then wait 3-6 months if not more for it to arrive, then have the money in the account the month it arrives, and then you get it. Its just inconvienent and you should be at least given an option to either pay when you pre order in full, or just when it ships.

For me i much rather have the money be gone upfront, and just have to wait. Yes, its far more annoying when what ever item misses a shipping date when they allready got your money, but these are well known and established companies. Not some fly by night no name off ebay so chances are your going to get your item sooner or later, and lets face it, delays happen. Parts and materials dont show up on time, you have transportation issues, unexpected issues with manufacturing, etc...but its just easer to take my money upfront imho knowing sooner or later ill get my item

What i really miss is the good old 80s when you just went into a store, picked the item off the shelf and bought it then and there, went to another store, or at worse ordered it from a catalog. Their was no such thing as a pre order...it was either on the shelf or it wasnt, and if it wasnt, your best bet was a catalog, and if it was in a catalog, it was already released in some form.

I know the internet is 30 years old at this point, but its still weird to me this idea of paying or pre ordering something that doesn't even really exists at the moment and wont exists for months if not a year ahead of time, yet still having money taken out or having to owe it down the road.

I am sure that the wait will be worth it. It is not the first time that a toy or video game that I was waiting to release ran into an issue and I am sure it won't be the last time either.

When news of the hack from March 30 broke out, they said there would be some delays in products being shipped. Probably having to do an investigation, security analysis and upgrade, etc. before shipping.

I'm going to guess it was the Hack that caused this delay. My guess is they got the Packs built and ready to go, but want to be sure no ones personal data or finical info was leaked before shipping things out. 1: this insures they get paid when they do ship, and b: its less of a headache dealing with investigators and the like. I doubt they are shipping any new items between now and June.

But im quite sure they want this stuff out before Ghostbusters Day in June, because its a bad look when you announce new products when your current line of products you announced last year still havent shipped! (Thats assuming they are announcing new items there. They could hold off until Comic Con or not at all)
