Discuss the upcoming 4th movie, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire to be released in March 2024.

Took me way too long to realize something.
The movie presented the problem that the Firehouse containment grid was too full.Egon didn't account for the size too much.
Which is the reason Winston builds a bigger grid in the PRC.
But by the end of the film not only is the grid still full, there is a whole godly being,Garraka, inside.
Like...they didn't solve the problem they presented,is it a tease for the next movie?Cause if so,i don't think it needs to be

The new unit at the PRC becomes the one used primarily. Delivery-wise, it'll prolly be a mix of the team delivering Traps en mass or an engineer coming in Ecto-Z routinely to pick up Traps for deposit.

Just “transfer” garraka from ECU into a trap and dump trap into the PRC grid.

Kinda like moving files from one hard drive to another via thumb drive.

Can they individually take a ghost they want from the ECU to a trap?Never thought of this before.Maybe at the PRC but the original 80s ECU works more like a trashcan.

Lucky seemed to intimate they could in the scene when Callie asks how long it would take to transfer the ghosts from one unit to the other. If not, I'm sure Lars or someone else at the PRC can build something to do so.

Garraka emptied the Firehouse Containment Unit when he breached it, the other ghosts weren't sucked into it when he was... He's now the sole occupant of the original Containment Unit.

Well, hold on now. When Phoebe blasted him the first time, the pink ghost energy stream reversed direction and went back into the unit. So not all ghosts may have escaped.

I appreciate that, but here's Ray's line when realizing they can use the Containment Unit as a trap: "It’s right there. Garraka’s let all the spirits out."

And then there's all the ghosts flying around New York when the "For Ivan" credit appears on-screen.

When the bluray comes out at the end of the month, it's fine to talk about them here or in the deleted scenes thread.

True, but he also misquoted Revelations. And thought Egon was wrong about the end of the world happening again. Idk, I'm not convinced they're all out but regardless, business will be thriving for awhile now.

JD Raimer uploaded photos of the props that were on display in the Ghost Corps office on GB Day. Got a good look at Nadeem's lighter and yep, that was a Manhattan Adventurers Society logo on it. Also never noticed the Pac-Man graphic on Podcast's motorcycle helmet. Nice looks at multiple angles of others like the Compact Thrower, too.

He also posted a 'Art Department Intentions' list that was handed to the 2nd unit crew of what needed to happen at the New York location to ensure a smooth transition in the film between the set and the location.

Just watched this for the second time.

I loved it just as much as the first time.

Almost all of the criticisms I’ve heard over the past few months… I think I can make a convincing justification for all of the movies decisions. And the primary one about too many characters, well… it balances them all very well imo. At no point did it drag. For me Melody’s storyline is the strongest part of the movie, which is why I think my view on the film clashes most with the detractors.

I think it’s a great Ghostbusters movie and I really hope we get another. Next up, a watch with Gil’s commentary.

Im about to watch it again soon.

I still think Melody was the weakest link and feels shoehorned in and awkward.

If they REALLY wanted to have Phoebe connect with a Ghost: why not have it be Slimer?

Now hear me out. If they really wanted to incorporate RGB elements: why bring Slimer back and hardly use him?

Phoebe taking in Slimer as a pet/friend would have worked and you could cover all the same story blocks Melody was used for.

- After being benched, Pheobe can go up and stow away into the attic, and go through Egons old stuff. And then connects with Slimer.

- Phoebe can take Slimer to the Research Center, and still do the “astral” experiment. And they unwittingly summon Garrakka together.

(You can even have a scene where Slimer tries to explain the trouble to Ray in super RGB fashion.
Ray: woah slimer! Slow down! What happened?)

- in the ending battle. When Firemaster is out of light fluid, Slimer flies out of the firehouse to find a new match.

Boom. Movie fixed.

What was crowbarred and awkward about Melody?

And just to add, the shot of her sliding down the pole is so good. The Melody-Phoebe dialogue is lean and tight on rewatch, there’s a lot to Melody that is never explicitly stated. Maybe the tragedy of her arc is too subtle for people, idk?
