There are many iconic buildings in the Ghostbusters franchise: the Firehouse, 550 Central Park West, Weaver Hall at Columbia University, the Manhattan Museum of Art, and the Mercado Hotel, to name a few, but one iconic location in the franchise will be hosting a special Ghostbusters movie marathon as part of the events to commemorate the franchise's 40th anniversary: The New York Public Library.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library, located a stone's throw from the main branch on 5th Avenue on Tuesday 4th June, and will see a screening of Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife, commencing at 2:00 pm, and expected to end around 8:00 pm. The presentation will also feature recommended paranormal reads (not including Tobin's Spirit Guide or Spate's Catalogue, sadly.

The screening is free, but does require registration.
Those wishing to attend can either register for tickets via the New York Public Library website, or enquire in person. The seating is on a first come, first served basis, so those who wish to attend should aim to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

It looks like it was only announced very recently, Report All Ghosts only posted an article about the event yesterday.

Next year won't be the 40th anniversary anymore, you may have to wait until 2034
I'll be there for the celebration at the firehouse on Saturday 8th, that's definitely much more of a bucket list item to me than seeing the films at the library (hence flying from Australia to attend).

Interesting that the above description says it's at the main branch of the library (as in the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building with the lions out front), but the ticket website says it's actually across the road at the "Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library (SNFL), 7th Floor Event Center".

Thanks for catching that, as I missed it. I've updated the article to reflect the new information.

Lately, I've become very interested in these kinds of events, and it's inspired me to get more involved in things that suit my interests. On a side note, if anyone is working on school or job applications and needs help with a personal statement, I found this helpful resource https://essays.edubirdie.com/personal-statement-writing where professionals do everything quickly and efficiently. It is very convenient! Anyway, hope to see some of you there!
Sounds awesome! I’ve always wanted to watch Ghostbusters at the library! I hope we will see each other there someday.
