In either case, cool prop!

I printed it the way you have it there, with support material inside.

Actually, that's reminded me of a feature I totally forgot to include in the guide...

The larger holes on the front of this fuse box are designed to insert two small 5mm diameter magnets.

You can screw in some shorter bolts on through the cover plate which will stick to the magnets when in place. This means you can remove and replace the cover plate without having to unscrew the bolts every time you want to get to the battery charger inside.

Will update with some photos as soon as I can.

Thanks. That’s the orientation I felt was the best but thought I’d ask first to save wasting from a cockup. I’m currently printing the main body which is going to take another 8 hours. I tried to be stingy with the support material but then it didn’t nicely layer over the top the first time around. Nevermind. You live print and learn…

I just bought the flask from McGrocer, and had it shipped to the US. Ended up being about $75, but hoping to split the cost with another member of my local group, if I can get two clean halves out of the inner liner.

Found it there, but says it doesn't meet the minimum order value. So the hunt continues.

Pretty damn certain it'd be cheaper to get a UK buster to ship one over to you. They're about $15, plus whatever it'd cost to ship - at a guess maybe $20-25 for that.

Spectregater wrote: June 29th, 2024, 3:36 pm The list of hardware needed, aluminum tubes etc, is in metric sizes. So trying to find similar sizes here in the US.
All the pipe I see says it has 2mm wall thickness, except for the kind marked 16 gauge which google says is 1.626mm.
1x 32mm OD, 1.6mm wall thickness aluminium tube

The imperial equivalent will be 1-1/4" outer diameter, 16 gauge.

1x 25mm OD, 1.6mm wall thickness aluminium tube

This will be 1" OD, 16 gauge.

So Ive got the flask on the way, which means I have basically everything I need. However I bought the two red parts used for the trigger handle and while they look exactly like the ones in the original post, the shorter one will not slide inside the larger one.

This is what I found too - the smaller one doesn't quite fit inside the larger one. This is why I designed a coupler which is included in the GitHub files. You then then use some epoxy glue to secure them together.

Murdock wrote: July 14th, 2024, 10:48 am Is there a 3D model for the metal arm brace, or can someone post the dimensions so we can make a 3d model?

The reason I ask is because getting the flask here seems rather difficult to impossible.
The original files that Quentin released include a Gauntlet file: https://github.com/mr-kiou/the_wanQer/b ... untlet.stl

I don't know how accurate the dimensions are though, maybe someone with the flask can confirm.

Obviously the flask isn't manufactured in the UK, it's just a generic product Argos has bought in bulk from China.
Reverse image search gives us this:
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 86965.html
It's available in 600mL (20oz) and the photos seem to exactly match what Argos is selling, right down to the inside lid.
Image

They're asking US$5.55 each.

Unfortunately this is as far as I got, because the Alibaba seller requires a minimum order quantity of 1000 pieces.

But it might be a good starting point, maybe someone can find an alternative source in the US. Interestingly the 800mL version seems to be available on Amazon under the Thermos brand name, it looks exactly the same to me. But I haven't found the 600mL/20oz version yet. Not that I've looked hard.

Disclaimer: I'm located in Australia so I'm searching for 600mL flasks, if you're in the USA you're better off looking for 20oz, you might get better results than me.

(Mods feel free to split this off into another thread if you think the flask search is hijacking Ectolabs' amazing build thread)

Oh that's super helpful actually, thanks.

Did some searching and found something that looks about right. The top lip seems to be about right.

Sorry if I did hi-jack this but also thought it belonged to here as well, since it is related to sourcing the part.

Oh, great find! I ordered one of those... I'll post pics comparing to the UK version I bought, once the US one gets here... And I'll probably try cutting the Amazon one first, since it'll allow for cheaper mistakes.

I will have to check it out. All I could find was a white plastic one that was the correct size. I was just going to spray paint it satin nickel.
