The Ghostbusters are called to the haunted home of recently deceased mystery writer, Agatha Grisley. They soon learn that the spectres are actually characters from Grisley's last, uncompleted novel!

- The title of the episode is a parody of the type of stories featured in this episode, Whodunit.
- Winston is an avid fan of mystery stories.
- Agatha Grisley is a parody of famous writer, Agatha Christie.
- In a minor coloring error, while in Ecto-1, Winston's color is the same color as his jumpsuit.
- Winston says he doesn't like playing basketball which contradicts Ghost Fight at the O.K. Corral where he says the opposite thing.
- Peter says "Maybe there's a ghost in the refrigerator, wouldn't be the first time" is a reference to the events of the first Ghostbusters movie where Zuul is in Dana Barrett refrigerator.
- When Winston has figured out who the culprit is, Ray's hair incorrectly turns to a dark brown color.
