A khaki flight suit is the standard uniform of the Ghostbusters.
Created specifically for the films, the outfit is made from a flight suit (either a khaki or dark grey), custom "no-ghost" and name patches, and a hose connector sewn just above the left knee. The fabric of the flight suit itself exhibits a unique herringbone pattern, although this is visible only through close inspection.
There are currently several uniforms in private collections, displayed by Planet Hollywood, and at least one making it's rounds in public "movie memorabilia" exhibitions.
For the fan wishing to put together his/her own uniform, plenty of companies currently sell both grey and khaki flight suits. The colors of these suits, while close to the originals, can be altered slightly through a dying process to match those seen onscreen. Patches that are fairly accurate are also available from dealers on the internet and/or eBay.
As mentioned above, there are several companies that make flightsuits out of different materials.
Ghostbusters I
Nomex CWU/27P Flyers Coveralls (Desert Tan):
The most accurate option readily available is a khaki flight suit made out of a synthetic material called Nomex. These can cost upwards of 200.00 USD, but can be found often on E-Bay for much cheaper. Not all flight suits are created alike, so pay attention to details such as pockets and the storm flap (a piece of fabric behind the zipper). Some suits have black zippers which differ from the brass ones seen on film but if the black paint is sanded off it will reveal the brass underneath. The Nomex suits do not have the side hip pockets that allow access to the wearer's pants pockets.
Tru-Spec:
For the fan on a budget, the next best option is to go with a polyester/cotton blend flightsuit made by Tru-Spec (labeled commonly as the deluxe air-force style). This uniform does not have all the correct pockets but it does have brass zippers and the aforementioned side hip pockets. These will cost about 35.00 USD.
Rothco (and other various manufacturers):
There are also polyester/cotton suits made by other companies that are generally of lesser quality- one of the more prominent ones that pop up online constantly are made by a company called Rothco. While these can work for a decent uniform, the zippers are not as high of a quality (plastic) and the material is a bit thinner. It is missing the storm flap and the khaki color is very yellowish in tint. To get a khaki color truer to the film, dyeing is required. Many online merchants use a generic photo to represent the uniform but the color and other details are way different in person. These will cost about the same as a Tru-Spec but will be of a lesser quality. Sometimes the online merchant will neglect to list the manufacturer, so be sure before purchasing that you know what brand of poly/cotton suit you are getting.
Ghostbusters II
You can use a khaki flight suit from any of the sources listed above. The only difference will be a clear leg hose instead of yellow and a GB2 logo patch (a GB1 patch is used in the first few minutes of the film).
For the darker suits, a charcoal gray suit was used. These are becoming more difficult to find in the wild especially in the polyester/cotton material. Rothco used to make a charcoal gray flight suit but these have been discontinued. The majority of the polyester/cotton charcoal gray suits out there are only available in size 2X and above. Many members have taken black, sage green or khaki polyester/cotton uniforms and dyed them to achieve the charcoal gray color. The black of course will need color removed prior to dyeing.
The information on dye recipes can be found in the "Uniforms" section of the forum.

Also note the khaki ripstop fabric used to make the suits:
