Category: Class VI Elevated Remnant

Type: Deity (supreme being)

Behaviors: Attack: Melee, Range Weakness: Proton Stream Special: Summoning Ability, Can Teleport

Notes: This anonymous woman (the authorities never discovered her identity) spent several years in the '20's living in the Hotel Sedgewick. There, for purposes only known to herself and her master, Ivo Shandor, she lured men into her rooms and then murdered them (though it's uncertain if they were killed before or after they were hung from the ceiling and drained of their blood).

As a reward for her efforts as a member of his inner circle, after her death, Shandor used his substantial powers to "elevate" her, creating the Spiderwitch. Now a terrifying spider-human fusion, she and her insect-like minions protect Shandor's interests in the strange, twisted plane that exists immediately between our world and the ghostworld.

Contact and Strategy: The Spiderwitch is a NPC from Ghostbusters: The video game

Her real name unknown, the Spiderwitch was a resident at the Sedgewick Hotel for several months during the early 1920's

Firstly appearing as a Ghostly visage, the Spiderwitch is seen brandishing a large knife whilst leading a male guest into the elevator of the Sedgewick during the Return to the Sedgewick Hotel level.

During her stay she seduced an unknown number of guests, leading them back to room 1221 of the hotel in order to murder them. It was said that the bodies of her victims were drained of blood and hung from the ceiling in a ritualistic fashion.

Upon heading to confront the Spiderwitch the 12th floor becomes lined with spider eggsacks and webbing, guiding the Player through the network of corridors towards Room 1221, the stage for the final confrontation with the Spiderwitch.

The battle with the Spiderwitch consists of the Player and Egon entering a cave like nest comprised entirely of spiderweb and hotel fixtures, The Spiderwitch having been transformed into a large Humanesque spider creature.

(PC/PS3/X360): Why'd it have to be spiders...? The Spiderwitch is creepy-looking, but fairly straightforward to fight. Simply shoot her with your Proton Stream. Use a Boson Dart if she lunges at you. If you are TRULY afraid of no ghost, get in her face and unload the Shock Blast to wear her down fast. On occasion, she will vanish into smoke (her one real trick). Equip your PKE meter and find her ASAP, as she will begin to feed upon a previous victim, regaining energy. Around the end of the battle, she will summon Spider Crawlers to assist her. If you keep moving, you can ignore them and continue to unleash proton punishment. Once she's dead, you're done with the level. Arachnophobes can put their feet back on the floor now.
