Stephen Boss

Stephen Laurel "tWitch" Boss (September 29, 1982 - December 13, 2022) was an American dancer, choreographer, DJ, actor, and television producer born in Montgomery, Alabama. He earned his nickname as a child due to his inability to sit still, a trait that channeled itself into an extraordinary talent for hip-hop and street-style dance. After studying at Southern Union State Community College and Chapman University, he competed on the fourth season of So You Think You Can Dance in 2008, where he finished as runner-up and captured wide public attention with his expressive, high-energy routines. He returned to the show as an All-Star in multiple subsequent seasons.

Boss became a familiar face on daytime television beginning in 2014 as the resident DJ and frequent guest host of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, a position he held until the program concluded in 2022; he also served as a co-executive producer of the series. On film, he appeared in several entries of the Step Up dance franchise. He and his wife, dancer Allison Holker, co-hosted Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings on Freeform and Disney+ between 2018 and 2020.

In Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016, credited as Stephen tWitch Boss), he appeared as a Police Officer during the film's ghost-invasion sequence. Boss passed away on December 13, 2022, at the age of 40.
