Real Ghostbusters: NOW Comics Volume 2 Issue 1

NOW Comics Vol. 2 #1 is the first issue of the second volume of The Real Ghostbusters comic series published by NOW Comics, released in November 1991. The issue contains two stories: an original dream-world adventure and a reprint from the Marvel Comics UK run of the series.

Stories

Story 1 (original)

The Ghostbusters enter the dream world, where they are each teleported to a different place and time. Winston Zeddemore arrives in Ancient Greece and faces the Minotaur. Ray Stantz finds himself in Scotland and must confront the Loch Ness Monster. Peter Venkman is transported to France, where he battles the ghost of Joan of Arc. Egon Spengler is sent to Ancient Egypt and must contend with the Sphinx. The character Tobin also appears.

Story 2: reprint from Marvel Comics UK

The second story is a reprint of a story originally published in The Real Ghostbusters #018 (Marvel Comics UK, cover-dated October 15, 1988). In that story, Peter Venkman ends up gambling with Satan, Death, and the ghost of a cowboy called the See-Through Kid to determine the fate of the Ghostbusters. When Peter discovers the three ghosts have been cheating, he captures all of them in a ghost trap.

Trivia

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse appear on the cover, but neither story in the issue features them.
