Tom Waltz

Tom Waltz is a writer and editor who has worked on the Ghostbusters comics published by IDW Publishing for many years. In July 2011 he was promoted to IDW's first Senior Staff Writer position.1 Across the line he served as the editor steering the bulk of IDW's Ghostbusters titles and contributed writing to several crossovers and a video game.
Writing
Waltz has writing credits on the following Ghostbusters and crossover comics:
- Ghostbusters: Volume 6 (wrote the foreword, dated October 2013)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters issues #1 through #4, plus the Director's Cut (co-writer)
- Ghostbusters Annual 2017, the story "But Wait, There's More!"
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters Volume 2, issues #1 through #5 (co-writer)
He also wrote the script for the video game Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime. Atari approached IDW CEO Ted Adams looking for someone with both Ghostbusters franchise experience and video game writing credentials; Adams pointed to Waltz, who was simultaneously at work on the Silent Hill: Downpour video game. Waltz worked directly with producer Jonathan Moses at Atari, receiving the four new recruits' names and genders from Atari and Behaviour while crafting their personalities himself. He set the game's opening scenes directly after Ghostbusters II, with Janosz Poha being admitted to a psychiatric institution where he encounters the game's antagonist, Ismael.2
