Story

Part Two of the Captain Nemo / Slug arc. The story continues directly from Vol. 1 #1.

After Winston Zeddemore is rescued and rejoins the group, the entity calling itself The Slug introduces himself as an alien named Sl'g. Sl'g helps Winston free Egon Spengler and Peter Venkman from the alternate realities they had been trapped in. Sl'g explains that the four time-traveling villains, Turek, Cowan, Gard, and Bethany, were once his assistants in the 26th century, until they stole his secrets and abused them. The quartet had traveled back in time to locate the Nautilus, the submarine of Captain Nemo, intending to use its power source to construct a devastating weapon.

The team then rescues Ray Stantz and together they defeat the four time bandits. In a final reveal, Sl'g admits that he is himself actually a ghost, and that he had deceived the Ghostbusters into trusting him in order to use them against his former assistants. Having accomplished his goal, Sl'g departs into the future aboard the Nautilus alongside the ghost of Captain Nemo.
