For Season 5 the hour-long "Slimer! and The Real Ghostbusters" block was rearranged into a 15-minute slot of The Real Ghostbusters, a 30-minute slot of The Real Ghostbusters, and a 15-minute Slimer! slot.1 That structure is why the season splits into two groups of episodes: a run of standard half-hour stories, and a set of paired 15-minute segments.
The season reused the title sequence and end credits introduced in Season 4. Intro 2 and Credits 2 both ran across Seasons 4 and 5 before the show was re-tooled again for Seasons 6 and 7.1
Episodes
The first part of the season (sometimes labeled 5a) consists of eight half-hour episodes:
The second part (5b) is made up of paired 15-minute segments:
- Trading Faces and Transcendental Tourists, both written by Len Janson and Chuck Menville
- Surely You Joust, written by Tony Marino, and Kitty-Cornered, written by Pamela Hickey and Dennys McCoy
- Slimer's Curse, written by Richard Mueller, and Til Death Do Us Part, written by Pat Allee and Ben Hurst
- It's About Time, written by Len Janson and Chuck Menville, and The Ransom of Greenspud, written by Stan Phillips
- Revenge of the Ghostmaster, written by Richard Mueller, and Loose Screws, written by Pat Allee and Ben Hurst
- Venk-Man!, written by Richard Mueller, and Slimer Streak, written by Pamela Hickey and Dennys McCoy
The Halloween Door, a half-hour special written by J. Michael Straczynski, also falls within the Season 5 run.1
