Slimer Costume

Here is my pride and joy Slimer! 30 hours in the making, he was a labor of love. I have to give a shout out to "ihavethepower" because he inspired me in the beginning! Awesome job man!
However, while I love the effects he got with his costume, I could not afford to go with the same materials. As I improvised, he came together. Did I mention I have never sewn a costume before with such complexity? Before this all I knew was how to run a straight stitch on a machine (only if I had to). Anyway, I have been told the he looks like he is floating around the top of the dining room. I think he looks more like the slimer from the cartoon. Mine is made from a base of sewn together upholstry foam (hot glue was not working for me). I sewed it with fishing line. Then, I added metallic green fabric on top and stuffed some sections to create more fat rolls. This costume was made for my 7 year old daughter, but it fits adults too! I wanted to add a table covered with a white cloth and some sausages and ham attached for the bottom half of the costume, but I had 7 other costumes to make. Still, at night, it really did look like he was flying around!
You can't see it here, but the eyes were made with the empty plastic shells that .50 cent toys come out in those machines. I sprayed them with glow in the dark paint and added pupils with a Sharpie. I sewed a flashing adjustable green light as well for nighttime.
My daughter held her candy bowl inside the mouth on the "shelf" that naturally occurred when she wore the costume. People fed the candy into her mouth.
Finally, the teeth are made from an old foam cushion that turned yellow over time. I added more decay by buring it with my hot sodering iron. Delightfully crusty! One photo shown has my daughter in it and the others just show Slimer sitting on a chair so you could see a couple of angles. I hope you like it!
