Proton Pack

I've decided to build what I'm calling my scrap pack. I already have a great proton pack I built, but I want one that I'm not affraid to wear out on the town in west hollywood this coming halloween. Face it, we all don't want to see our pride and joy get smashed on the ground by a drunk, naked batman. It is exactly for that reason I've decided to make my scrap pack. I'm building it with found parts and left overs from my first pack build. fortunately I have a bumper mold, so I'll be able to have a decent bumper. I also had a lot of extra parts already made for a particle thrower, so I was able to throw it together in about a day. I'm not going for movie accuracy with this one, but close enough that you will recognize it as a proton pack. Update 7/12/10: Added some pics of my pack. Making the shell out of foam board. Just trying to go as cheap as possible and still retain the look of the pack. Fortunately I have lots of left overs from my first build to help with the details. Update 7/17/10: Made some real progress today. Painted the shell and added some of the details. I wanted to add the labels, but my printer is out of ink, so I'll have to do that tomorrow. I have to admit its looking a lot better than I was expecting when I set out to make a cheap pack. Now I just need the finish the ion arm rod, get a crank nob, something for the bellow that belongs on the bumper, cut my motherboard, and attach the thrower and it will be ready to roll. Update 7/18/10: 95% done. I have a cheap LED light kit I still need to build for the cyclotron lights, but for now its good enough to present. I don't have a crank knob yet, but when I get one i will put it one. Also missing a buster plug but no ones looking there anyway. Its at least good enough that someone from our group who doesn't have a pack can wear it at SDCC this year.
