Early Life
Simhadri was born in Ventura, California, to a family that had emigrated from Telangana, India.1 He was scouted as an actor at the age of four after the family had relocated to California, and he began booking national commercial work for brands including Kmart and Toyota before landing his first on-screen television role.1
Career
Simhadri made his television debut in 2013 with a guest appearance in the ABC sitcom How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life).1 Further guest roles followed in Angie Tribeca (2016) and the Will & Grace reboot (2020), alongside a recurring part in Just Roll with It (2019) and voice work on Mira, Royal Detective (2020).1
His feature film debut came in Netflix's The Main Event (2020), in which he played Riyaz, a role that earned him the Young Artist Academy Award for Best Performance in a Streaming Film (Teen Actor).4 That same year he provided voice work for The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run (2020).1 He then starred alongside Avantika Vandanapu as lead Rohan Kumar in the Disney Channel original film Spin (2021), followed by a supporting role in Disney+'s Cheaper by the Dozen (2022).1
Alongside his screen work, Simhadri appeared off-Broadway at Stage 42 in Trevor: The Musical (2021), winning the Young Artist Academy Award for Best Performance in a Streaming Film (Supporting Teen Artist) when a filmed version was released in 2022.5 He also received a nomination that year for Cheaper by the Dozen.5
His highest-profile role to date is Grover Underwood, the loyal satyr companion in Disney+'s Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which premiered in December 2023.1 Author Rick Riordan praised Simhadri's audition at the time of the casting announcement: "In his auditions for Grover Underwood, Aryan won our hearts. He had me laughing out loud with his delivery and timing. He has a mixture of sweetness, humor and internal toughness that is perfect for our favorite satyr."6 The series returned for a second season in December 2025,7 with a third season entering production.8 Simhadri has described Season 2 as a more vulnerable arc for Grover: "He's more vulnerable than everyone thinks he is. He's portrayed as this protector who is solely there for Percy and Annabeth, but this season we see him on his own and what that does to him."7
In 2025, Simhadri appeared in Freakier Friday, the Disney sequel, playing Jai, one of Harper's close friends.1
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
Simhadri provided one of the voices for the Mini-Pufts in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024), alongside voice actors Ryan Bartley and Shelby Young.3 The Mini-Pufts are miniature, self-aware versions of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man who escape containment and wreak cartoonish mayhem throughout the film, including a climactic post-credits sequence in which the tiny marshmallow men commandeer a delivery truck laden with Stay Puft marshmallows.3 The characters balance physical comedy against the film's more serious supernatural stakes, and their vocal performances lean into the creatures' impish, almost gleeful chaos.
