Arcoelectric Lights

imageCommonly referred to as the "hat lights", three of these vintage Arcolectric indicator light covers are found on the proton gun. There are two White covers, located to left of the Clippard valve and on the very top of the box to the right of the vent slots, and one Orange cover located on the right side gun "ear" toward the front of the barrel. For Ghostbusters 1 Hero guns, the cover on the top of the gun is fed up through a hole from inside the gun so only the top is visible. Ghostbusters 2 guns have the entire cover mounted on top from the outside. There is one variation using another Orange cap on top instead of White. It has only been documented as having been used in once scene in the first film. Covers have been found both with and without numbers printed on the tops. Numbers can be easily removed to achieve a screen accurate appearance. It should also be noted that the correct Orange covers are opaque and not semi-translucent like the more commonly found Orange covers. Arcolectric no longer produces this model of indicator light. Similar alternatives have been found from other manufacturers. image
