imageCommonly referred to as the "hat lights", two to three of these vintage indicator lights are found on the proton gun. There is one White, located to left of the Clippard valve and one Orange located on the right side gun "ear" toward the front of the barrel. On some throwers, mainly in GB2, another indicator is used on the top of the gun next to the vent but it is fed up through a hole from inside the gun so only the top is visible. The "hero" GB1 thrower used an Orange indicator while all others are White. Some Ghostbusters 2 stunt throwers have the indicator mounted normally from the top. These indicators are called "relampable" as the lens cover unscrews to make replacing the incandecent bulb easier. Covers have been found both with and without numbers printed on the tops. Numbers can be easily removed to achieve a screen accurate appearance. It should also be noted that the correct Orange covers are opaque and not semi-translucent like the more commonly found Orange covers. While ideally both the socket and the lens should be used for maximum accuracy due to the rarity of this part many people settle for just the lens. This style indicator is still produced but the lens styles are different and are usually LED instead of incandecent. While possible to special order large quantities from various manufacturers the best bet to find one is at surplus stores. It is rumored that these indicators were used in 727 aircraft. image imageimage [hr] Arcolectric 1041 indicator lights imageimage There is some debate as to whether the 1041 models shown here or the 245 model which is just slightly different are more accurate. Most people find the difference to be slight enough to not matter. These indicators were used for the slo-blo light and flashing indicator beside the vent on the thrower as well as an indicator on the trap pedal. image imageimage
