Adam Ray (born June 16, 1982) is an American comedian, actor, voice artist, and podcaster. Raised in Seattle, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Southern California. He is widely known to stand-up comedy fans for his long-running "About Last Night" podcast and for his recurring portrayal of a Dr. Phil parody in live performance and on screen.
In Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016), Ray played the Lead Singer of the rock band Beasts of Mayhem and also provided the voice of Slimer. He announced the voice role publicly in April 2016. It marked a return of Slimer to the theatrical Ghostbusters films, with Ray's vocal performance accompanying a practical puppeteer and a stunt performer on set.
Beyond the Ghostbusters franchise, Ray has appeared in several Paul Feig films, including The Heat (2013) and Spy (2015). His voice work includes animated series such as King of the Hill, Rick and Morty, Trolls, and She-Ra on Netflix. In 2024, Netflix aired a stand-up special featuring his Dr. Phil persona, which included a face-to-face meeting with the real Phil McGraw.
