Catherine Reitman (born April 28, 1981, in Los Angeles, California) is a Canadian-American actress, writer, producer, and director. She is the daughter of film director Ivan Reitman and actress Genevieve Robert, and the sister of filmmaker Jason Reitman. She trained in improvisation at The Groundlings in Los Angeles and studied acting at the University of Southern California. In 2016 she co-founded Wolf and Rabbit Entertainment with her husband Philip Sternberg to develop original projects, most notably the comedy series Workin' Moms, which she created, wrote, executive produced, and starred in for CBC and Netflix from 2017 to 2023. The show received multiple Canadian Screen Award nominations, including Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Reitman.
Her Ghostbusters connection began in childhood. As a young girl she appeared in Ghostbusters II (1989) as the Girl with Puppy, a small role arranged through her father, who directed the film. She and her brother Jason had also been slated to appear as fleeing bystanders in the original Ghostbusters (1984) at the climax near 550 Central Park West, but both became frightened after the first take and the cameo was abandoned. That discarded footage was later repurposed in Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) when Gary Grooberson shows Phoebe Spengler recordings of the Manhattan Cross-Rip of 1984.
