Daniel Hayes Ramis (born August 10, 1994) is an American actor and filmmaker, and the son of the late Harold Ramis, who played Egon Spengler in the original Ghostbusters films. Growing up as the youngest child of Harold Ramis, he developed an interest in creative work that eventually led him both in front of and behind the camera.
In Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016), Daniel Ramis appeared as the Metal Head, an enthusiastic fan outside the Stonebrook Theatre at Rock Revenge Fest XIV, a concert headlined by Ozzy Osbourne. As Rowan North sneaks into the theatre to plant a Hyper-Ionization Device, the Metal Head spots him and excitedly shouts that Ozzy rocks before giving Rowan a high five. The character wears a Mastodon t-shirt featuring the band's "20 Million BC" design, itself a homage to the poster of the 1966 film One Million Years BC. His casting was a tribute to his father, Harold Ramis, who had died in February 2014; the role connected the Ramis family to the franchise in a new generation.
Beyond acting, Daniel Ramis has worked as a producer and filmmaker. His short film Dingus Wishes (2018), an eight-minute comedy drama, received a nomination for Best Professional Short (Narrative) at the Chicago Southland International Film Festival. He followed that with another short, Everything Is Fine (2019).
