Dave Florek (born May 19, 1953, in Dearborn, Michigan) is an American character actor whose career spans television, film, and stage. He began establishing himself in the 1980s through television specials and miniseries, including On the Edge (NBC, 1986-1987) and Internal Affairs (1988-1989), before appearing in major studio films.
In Ghostbusters II (1989), Florek appeared as First Cop, the police officer who questions Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore when they dig a hole in First Avenue to investigate the Psychomagnotheric slime river beneath the city. The scene, which falls in Chapter 06 "Late-Night Excavation" on the DVD release, was also included in substantially similar form in the August 5, 1988 script draft. The First Cop character was later depicted in IDW Publishing's Ghostbusters comics, appearing as an officer on the right side of a panel in Ghostbusters Annual 2017 and also recalled in Ghostbusters Volume 2. His television credits from later decades include recurring roles on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide (2004-2007) and appearances in Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, Bosch, Castle, The Rookie, and the USA drama Shooter (2016-2017). He also appeared in the 2004 adventure film Hidalgo.
