Douglas Seale

Douglas Seale (October 28, 1913 - June 13, 1999) was an English film, stage, and voice actor. Born in London and educated at Rutlish School in Wimbledon, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He made his professional debut in 1934, worked in theatre through 1940, and then served in the Royal Corps of Signals during World War II before returning to the stage in 1946.
He spent two seasons with the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre company in Stratford-upon-Avon and later turned to producing and directing in both the United Kingdom and the United States. His return to acting in later life brought him considerable stage success, including a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his role as Selsdon Mowbray in the 1983 Broadway production of Noises Off. His film credits include Amadeus (1984) and Ernest Saves Christmas (1988). In animation, he provided the voice of Krebbs the koala in The Rescuers Down Under (1990) and the Sultan in Disney's Aladdin (1992).
In Ghostbusters II (1989), Seale portrayed the Plaza Hotel Man, a hotel guest whose evening is disrupted by the supernatural forces stirred up by the Psychomagnotheric slime flowing beneath New York City. The character is part of a broader sequence of New Yorkers whose experiences illustrate the city-wide spread of paranormal activity ahead of the Ghostbusters' return. The Plaza Hotel is presented in the film as one of several high-profile Manhattan landmarks affected by the supernatural crisis.
