Erik Holland (born Olav Roger Øvregård, May 18, 1933, in Sandnes, Norway; died April 6, 2020, in Studio City, California)1 was a Norwegian-American character actor whose career spanned five decades in film and television. He is best remembered in the science fiction genre for roles in Ghostbusters II (1989), Stargate (1994), and James Cameron's Titanic (1997).2 His unassuming everyman quality allowed him to portray a wide range of types: soldiers, doctors, lawyers, policemen, protagonists, and antagonists with equal credibility.
