Harold started his career with the Second City comedy troupe in Chicago and expanded his role as a writer and actor in the SCTV comedy show. He later left the show to pursue a career in films. “National Lampoon’s Animal House” was his first film script and the movie went on to break box office records for comedy at the time. His first shot as a film director was “Caddyshack” and later his script and directing for “Groundhog’s Day” is by some considered to be his masterpiece. You’ll find that while not the most immediately recognizable of the Ghostbusters, his legacy has been an indelible mark on film comedy and an influence that extends to comedy film writers, directors, and actors to this day.
