Jeanine Ramirez is an award-winning American broadcast journalist and native New Yorker who covered city and national news across a career spanning more than two decades. She studied communications at Fordham University, where she also founded and captained the school's dance team, and began her television career as a field producer, writer, and production assistant at WPIX-TV in New York. From there she moved to KWES-TV in Midland, Texas, where she reported, anchored, and hosted a weekly syndicated Latino music program. She spent the central portion of her career at NY1 News, covering major stories including the September 11 attacks, Superstorm Sandy, the trial of drug lord El Chapo, and the development of the Barclays Center. A five-time Emmy Award nominee, she has also received recognition from the National Hispanic Media Coalition and the New York Press Club.
In Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016) Ramirez appeared as a Reporter Outside Theater, one of several real New York journalists who played themselves in the film's sequences depicting media coverage of the ghost outbreak.
