Career
Bennett's professional voice-over work began in 1985.1 His first notable role was Horace "I.Q." Boothroyd III in the animated series James Bond Jr.2 That work introduced him to the world of recurring animated characters, and his career accelerated rapidly through the 1990s.
His breakthrough came in 1995 when he originated the voice of Johnny Bravo for a short that aired as part of Cartoon Network's "What a Cartoon!" showcase.1 Using a vocal characterization described as blending the younger and older Elvis Presley,1 Bennett made the role his own. When Johnny Bravo was picked up as a full series, it ran from 1997 to 2004 and became one of Cartoon Network's signature programmes from that era.1

Fellow voice actor Rob Paulsen has noted that Bennett's Christopher Walken impression is so precise that when other voice actors attempt a Walken impression, they are often actually doing their version of Bennett doing Walken.3
Awards
Bennett has received recognition from both principal animation industry awards bodies. In 2012, he won the Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement for Voice Acting in a Television Production for his role as Kowalski in The Penguins of Madagascar.1 In 2016, he won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for his portrayal of Mayor Luskey in Transformers: Rescue Bots.1
Ghostbusters
Extreme Ghostbusters (1997)
Bennett served as a guest voice actor on Extreme Ghostbusters, the 1997 animated series that served as a sequel to The Real Ghostbusters. He appeared in the episode "Grease".4 The show was produced during a period when Bennett was already well-established in animation through Gargoyles, Dexter's Laboratory, and the launch of Johnny Bravo.
Personal Life
Bennett has been married to Susan E. Welby since 1988. The couple have one daughter, born in 1998.1
